I heard that Tomasz is sick of people calling him a small heavywight and is recalling Holy as someone of similar size. Haye is another example. He can even say that Tyson was smaller if it's about height and not much heavier even BUT...

The difference between Adamek and other small succesfull HWs is the way he throws punches. Holy and Tyson are commiting whole body to their shots. You can say that Holy throws combinations like Adamek but those are more series of heavy shots - 1...2....3....4..5....

Adamek goes in and uleashes 123, 1234, 1-2. He does not throw bombs and doesn't seem to be able to. He's technically sound, but it's Polish school of boxing, his style is similar to this of Golota. It was beautiful in LH/cruiser.

But his power while fighting like this is not enough to KO a decent heavy. That's not the way small heavyweights fight. Probably this is what people mean when saying that Adamek is not a real HW.

Can he learn how to fight like Holyfield, commiting his whole mass into one shot?

Adamek has fought Golota, Estrada, Arreola. Last 2 guys have never been lose by KO. Just give Tomasz a time to learn a HW rules ok? He had only 2 mouths before Arreola to change his boxing style working with new coach. Adamek is preparing to imitate a Holyfields style.

Man I hope so... It would be great to see him throwing full commited shots. How do you know it's his plan? You think he's capable of doing it?

I believe he does and could outdance/outpoint Vitali. Klits are dangerous only if you stood on the same place in the ring. If you would running they might have problems.

He doesn't have the competetion that Tyson and Holyfield had either.

He'll be fine if he stays way from Wladdy. I see him beating Haye or maybe taking the WBC belt once Vitali retires, beating a Sam Peter or Solis.

    No, he can't.

That isn't to say he won't be successful - in fact there is nothing I'd like more than to see Adamek knock Wlad off his perch at the top of the division.

Vitali will be beaten soon enough or will retire... Haye probably won't fight again.

    War Adamek!

I think if he wanted to and trained for it, he could employ a more similar style to Holyfields, and also get more power out of his body. But that would include taking away many of his attributes, attributes that have been working flawlessly to this point. If he tried to imitate Holyfields style he would be fighting unnaturally, and would not have the same success Holyfield had, obviously because they are two different fighters.

Why fix something that isnt broken. If he tried to do this he would be asking for trouble, in my opinion.

    Explanation to why he can't?

Hes already got huge heart in his fights, he has massive balls, fights constantly, is constantly moving and has a give 2 for 1 mentality, his chin is real good, and his body punches are crsip, all of these atributtes Holyfield had, Adamek has today.

    Yes, he can.

The thing that strikes me most is, Adamek grew into heavyweight and brought his stamina with him, for the most part. He looks natural at 220, Haye on the other hand, throws about 12 punches per round, PERIOD, and looks far too balooned up for my taste, he has his feet underneath him.. sure, but against who? Ruiz? Valuev?

This is true, but the fact is he is fighting Micheal Grant next, so in my opinion, I think he can do the risk of trying to fight more like Holyfield cause Grant today isn't as good as Golota/Estrada/Arreola were when Tomek fought them.

Tomek moved up, fought a former HW 90s "legend", than beat a solid top 20 HW, and then beat a top 5 HW. THis is Adamek's first "gimme" fight in the HW division, which he deserves btw, to test more of a potential style factor for guys like the Klits.

It's not broken, it just needs to be tuned up for future potential fights

    All true.

But fighting like that at heavyweight, like Holyfield did?

Long term.... no, not for me.

Granted, the division isn't all that strong, and I'd like to see Adamek chin everybody, but can't see it.

There's an awful lot of truth to the statement 'punchers are born.'

Adamek is not a big puncher at HW and never will be. I've said it before but he wouldn't have beaten Arreola had Chris not injured his hand.
