I don't like this. The time to beat Usyk was the rematch, if AJ wins a trilogy, all the criticism will just be "Well Usyk is old now". I hate that, I want no excuses after or before for any fight

    I like AJ.
But why should any fighter get multiple opportunities to 'right the wrong' - especially after a non controversial loss. Usyk has already proven he's the better fighter. Twice. Why does anyone need to see it again?

Time for AJ fans to accept defeat and move on.

If he gets past Dubois, he can roll it with another fellow Usyk victim, Fury.

He probably could, but other than money why would Usyk bother? He’s fought and beat him twice. Job done, nothing else to prove. Don’t do what almost all boxers do and carry on just a bit too long. Beat Fury (hopefully) and sail off into the sunset. the man has done it all

If he does it will be due to Usyk aging out. Usyk will be 38 in Jan 2025 and at that age anything can happen.

But if Usyk is still 85-90% of the fighter we have seen recently then no Joshua cannot beat him. Joshua other than the body shots showed nothing really new against Usyk. While Joshua isn't an idiot in the ring he doesn't have that kind of high level IQ and ability to adapt in the ring which is needed overcome a fighter as crafty as Usyk. I was very disappointed in how little he brought to the rematch and I doubt he brings much more to the 3rd fight. He'll no doubt try hard and give it his all but again he'll be outclassed.

Not just having Ben, but AJ has clearly improved in the fights since his loss and gained his confidence back. If he stops Dubois, who Usyk went life and death with and got knocked out by a body shot, it will send chills down Usyk’s back.

Usyk does not owe Joshua any trilogy because Joshua lost the first two fights convincingly, so I would like Dubois to punish him for that arrogance and false confidence...

No version of Joshua beats even a heavily declined Usyk. It’s a matchup issue. In fact, if anything, the trigger-happy Joshua of old, who threw a lot of combinations, would be even easier for Usyk to handle, as Joshua manages his stamina much better these days. Usyk would just let Joshua punch himself out, as he did in the ninth round of their rematch.

Yeah, I agree. I see no reason for a third fight. Usyk has already slowed down considerably since the first fight, so it would be very hard to think anything else than if he loses it's to Father Time rather than AJ.

Correct and you don't have to look any further than Wilder for an example of that.

usyk is much better than the Bruno clone
However, Father time whips all eventually

Usyk if should retire after Fury, especially if he wins.

He will have completed the game with nothing to prove and will have enough money.

I don't want him to get flattened by someone much inferior because they are still in their prime.
