or is he just the super middleweight gatekeeper? He declined a fight with Andre Dirrell a nice up and comer and who's undefeated. He's not good enough to fight any of the big names and the 168 division is just starting to get some pub (because of Joe Calzaghe) I'm sure he could get a fight against someone like Mikkel Kessler for his version of a title (WBA) on HBO, but I don't think he could beat him.
not kessler. froch would be a toss up. and bute would edge him out i think green vs taylor would be a good fight and i would favour green
If he does he won't hold it long. Green nearly gets annihilated by clubfighters. He doesn't have the chin to hang at the top level for any extended period.
That's not the way I heard it. But to say the least, I think Green has a better than average chance to win a world title. And he has even more potential to make some very exciting fights and become a character in the game while making some good money even if he doesn't get the word title around his waist.
lets see him healthy and i say he picks up a belt. he has the great equalizer one punch power to sit a man on their ass. his chin is questionable. he got dropped by miranda( a solid puncher) and his sparring partner(who would know his bad habits better than him). he's solid if he stays healthy. sucks that his health had been so bad.
Nah, he turned down a fight with Lucian Bute prior to Bute becoming champion... Green said it was because Bute didn't defend some title he had in a reasonable time or soemthing dumb like that but from what I read, HBO seemed to be interested in the fight.... Green, he has a chance to win a belt.... I would look at Froch/Pascal vs. JT winner... Who knows...
