Anderson Silva has dominated the ufc middleweight division much like fedor dominated the heavyweight division back in his pride fc days. Fedor is clearly past it while anderson is still going strong.

If anderson can keep winning and retire undefeated in the ufc, could he become the greatest ever?

No reason why not, especially now considering the tougher level of opposition now days.

You can argue he already has especially when you look at the resumes of the 2 fighters.

Silva has the potential to beat GSP and Jones and avenge the Okami loss.

If he beats GSP at 185 and moves up to take the 205 title from Jon Jones, or really anyone who has it at the time, it seems unarguable to me that p4p all-time he is better than Fedor.

He can also achieve it without doing those things but that seems the clearest way for him to accomplish it.

You'd wanna hope so as an MMA fan, a little embarrassing that a guy like Fedor who looks like the kid who got bullied at school swinging helicopters at you developed an average ground game and then became the greatest of all time.

When you compare him to the obvious skill levels of Ali/Robinson you really can't say MMA is even close to the level of boxing yet. Silva is a huge step in that direction from the old days.

heavyweights are the best fighters, everything else is prelims, so...no. he is already the best p4p fighter/resume holder etc as well though/

    What the ****.

Anderson certainly can become the best ever. The fact the Fedor hasn't faced the greatest of competition over the recent years, coupled with the fact that Anderson hasn't showed any signs of slowing down. If the Silva/GSP fight doesn't happen, that would certainly be a sticking point.

If he steps up and beats Jones then he surpasses Fedor in my opinion.
