Can Andre Berto beat Shane Mosley?

Mosley on pts or late stoppage. Berto can still be quite wide and wild, shane wont let him get away with errors the way Collazo and co have done so far. I tink Berto will come again, but its too soon for Mosley IMO.

berto is still green and does need to work on a lot of things, i agree. mosely may not be as sharp as he was several years ago...but the thing is, most of that gets made up for w/ him having brother naz coming up w/ a good gameplan. the margo fight was as much gameplanning (based on the cotto fight) as much as it was mosely executing it. i'm sure they watched some of berto's recent fights and will come up with something.

but despite all that, there is always a chance for berto. slim, but still.

Can he? Yes, I think he can.

Will he? Highly, highly doubt it. I don't think he's ready yet.

 

He has the tools to beat Moseley but Moseley is tough guy to beat. Just ask DLh, Vargas, Mayorga, Cotto, and Margarito. Winky Wright beat him convincingly. Moseley is a great fighter and from his last few fights still can punch great and has not lost his refelxes. That said he did struggle for a good part of the fight against Mayorga. I think Moseley is beatable. Berto has great athletic ability and conditioning and strength but he keeps guys in the fight. He let Collozo bully him and fight his kind of fight. And at times he let Urango bang his body and out did Urango but did not really dazzle. He won easy but not to the expectations of some. If Berto fights a consistent 12 rounds to his game plan then sure he could win.

 

Unfortunately, I actually agree, as Mosley, from what I've seen, seems to struggle against slippery oppenents, being that he does not have a jab. Additionally, Mosley will come into this fight cocky as hell, thinking he deserves to win, thinking that he's the best fighter alive (blah blah blah), and he'll think that his win against Margarito makes him godly. Do not forget that Paul Williams beat Margarito, even during the supposed time period that Margarito used the brick-wraps. And Williams lost to Quintana on a night that he came in cocky as hell and couldn't land the punches that he wanted against a small slippery fighter.

I do agree, however, that Berto does throw wildly on occassion. Immediately, I think of the first round against Steve Forbes. But Mosley is definitely not Collazo. Mosley is a brawler now. He bounces, yes, and he is very quick; but he is a boxer brawler with a killer right. Should the right hook land flush on Berto, the fight will be over; but if Berto slips this one punch, then I think he'll take away a unanimous or split decision, setting him up for the dumbest, least entertaining, fight ever - - against Mayweather.

 

Only if Mosley's age finally catches up.
