With Tyson Fury out of the picture you'd expect Joshua to dominate against the current crop of heavyweights. In terms of styles a prime David Haye would cause him problems in my opinion; elusive, good head movement, athletic, fast and can punch a bit himself. Whilst Joshua is the much bigger man he lacks a dominant jab and good enough defence to keep Haye off him for 12 rounds so would've been an intriguing explosive match up.

With Fury in the picture Joshua would have nothing to worry about. Fury is no bueno forever now. Joshua has stamina issues like most guys his size. That's why Ward wanted to fight him.
To beat Joshua you just have to wait him out. See Jones vs Ruiz.

A skilled pressure fighter with a good chin who will force him to work at a pace he can't sustain, esp a good bodypuncher. I think the toughest matchup for him style wise out of the current top 5 would be Povetkin but he's getting old.

Waiting him out is much easier said than done, not many fighters would be able to survive an onslaught from Joshua. Also not sure if Ward wanted to fight him, if i recall correctly it was Virgil Hunter who was responsible for the call out and Ward played it down afterwards.

Haye and Povetkin, if fit and if clean respectively, are the only two heavyweights with a realistic chance of betting AJ in the next couple of years.

That said, it is normally the no-hopers that end up doing the damage. Think Tyson and Lennox Lewis. SO the biggest danger to AJ, may well be AJ.......if he gets too complacent.

Decent chin and power, work the body early so he cant get that second wind.

Lets be honest Wlad had him finished but went back to safety first. Whyte had him badly wobbled but couldnt follow it up.

    Joshua is very much beatable.

It's not as simple as that. They would still have to effectively engage him, like Wlad did. People quickly forget that against Breazeale, Joshua looked as fresh as a daisy after 7 rounds.

As to the original question, it's the heavyweight division, so a sucker punch is always on the cards. That Eastern European style, like Wlad's will cause him problems, providing the fighter carries real danger.
