Not named Pavlik or Williams? To be honest I don't think either of those guys have a chance unless they knock him out. ( And I mean really beat him. Fuk Compubox bull****.) Any time you get a booger removed from your brain you lost! End of story! I don't see how anyone with one brain cell working can give more than four rounds to Williams, who basically lost every exchange. I think the the top three welters could do it. It actually makes sense for Mosley if he loses to Money May, but too risky for Sergio.
At 168 hes to small. Many of the top guys there would beat him. From 160 down hes gonna be hard to beat. Hes the best fighter from 154-160.
At 168 it's a new ball game, he has a great chin but with his hands down style it's always possible for him to get clocked. Good boxers like Ward and Bute are naturally bigger than him and have good defense and would present many problems. I have been a Martinez fan since i first saw him destroy Bunema, but seriously he probably needs to avoid 168. At 154-160 he can be the man for at least a few more years.
The OP said under 168, not including it. I don't know if there's anyone sans Williams or Pavlik at the moment.
Funny. I do think Fernando Guerrero would give him problems if he was ready now. To me Guerrero seems the most polished of all the top up and comings at MW. Danial Jacobson is very boring, and Andrade is a knockout waiting to happen.
well can bute , froch , dirrel , ward so on and so on weigh 167 if so then all of them but in the 154 160 division i dont see it but if floyd or shane moved up id favour them but for manny it may be a stretch to far as martinez isnt just bigger but hed be quick aswell (i know never doubt manny)
Middleweight with Golovkin, Macklin, Pirog, Guerrero, Korobov, Lara, N'Dam N'Jikam and Jacobs is a division waiting to explode. I'll be watching with interest over the next few years thats for sure.
i have much respect for Martinez. Hell of a fighter. BUT I FEEL in a rematch williams would beat him. apart from him i dont think any1 could
Everybody at 160 other than Pavlik and Williams gets schooled. At 154 or 160 I think Williams would beat him again, but more convincingly. A rematch is a winnable fight for Pavlik. A couple of fairly minor changes would make a big difference.
I incorrectly assumed the Koki Kameda punchline would die a quick death after he lost to Wonjongkam:bart
