Hearns would probably beat Armstrong at Welter too, that doesn't make him better P4P.

Mayweather was a Super Featherweight, so bigger than Armstrong, but closer to his size than Hearns's

Any list that has Pernell Whitaker above Floyd Mayweather should be thrown in the trash.

Rocky Marciano does well under these absurd standards.

Marciano is a light cruiserweight. We already treat him as a heavyweight.

Marciano never lost, and retired close to his prime.

Marciano performs well here, but I think this is slowly changing.

Ok, this might hurt him a bit.

That's fine. He doesn't get the credit anyway.

Just Valdes. All the guys he fought were the #1 or #2 guys.

He beat older fighters, and tended to ruin people, so he dodges this bullet, too.

This might impact his fight against Charles, Moore, and Cockell. But nobody thinks much of the latter anyway.

Actually, Joe Louis probably dodges all of these bullets better than Marciano.

And his only losses are to Marciano, Schmeling, and Charles, who do well under these conditions.

    Joe Louis for GOAT.

I'll admit, I'm prone to dis FM a tad because he did hand pick later in his career and...robbed live AND closed circuit viewers their monies worth later in his career by simply deciding to remain undefeated by utilizing his defensive skills! As for the PAC fight?....finally! Did he have to wait that long?
A couple of friends wanted me to go in and split the cost of watching the fight live. I said no. My reason? Floyd will come out defensive and cautious, build a lead with his great boxing skills, finally getting tagged with a couple of semi-bombs, adjusting and winning a decision with the PAC fans clamoring for a rematch. I think it basically turned out that way....

"Simply deciding to remain undefeated" tells you all you need to know about how good Floyd was both in and ut of the ring.

No one is talking about who's higher on the list P4P. We are talking H2H. Can't say well of course he'd decapitate him Armstrong was a Featherweight. If they fought in a weight class and achieved a championship, you can't play the size card to make excuses to explain their loss in a MM is all I'm saying.

Weird that no one's talking about P4P, when the thread I made was P4P Leonard Vs Mayweather

Floyd is either overrated by his fans (not meaning you) or underrated by those who dislike him, and his detractors or more numbered or vocal than his supporters...but very few on either side is credible.

There seem to be very few willing to look at what he did and contrast it a level criteria against what other fighters did.

He didn’t beat Canelo convincingly and should have rematches him. Then they post that Canelo was green. Then in a GGG thread they say Canelo got a gift card against Floyd.

So in beating Canelo Floyd gets punished for:
    1 Beating a green Canelo
1 Getting a SD not very convincingly (while at the same time saying Canelo got a gift card)
1 not rematching Canelo ( who may have fought a close contested fight or recievef a gift depending on which argument I want to make lol)

So when rating this fight Floyd gets -3 points taken from his resume, rather than getting credit for picking apart a great (very good) larger fighter on the cusp of his peak!

That’s just 1 fight. He won’t win in this forum IMO

He faced Cotto, Canelo, Maidana x 2 and Pac after turning 35. Preciously few have faced quality like that at that age. Guerrero and Berto weren't crap either.

Yes, McGregor was a gimme, but that was a bit of a special case. No fighter ever would have turned down a pay-day like that. And, yes, Pac was past his best, but still nr 2 p4p and would beat Bradley convincingly in his next fight.

This is probably the most accurate P4P list I've ever seen.
