Actually out of the golden era of SMW's, i give McClellan the best chance against Jones, he also beat Roy in the amateurs.

Comparing him to Jones is not as ridiculous as saying he would not crack the top 5 today.

McClellan has a puncher's chance against anyone but I believe Jones would've picked him apart. McClellan got wild often and left himself open to counters, I can't see Jones having much trouble making him miss and making him pay for it.

I can't really disagree with what you are saying here, i would pick Jones at 168 over anybody. I just really believe G-Man would do fine against the current crop at SMW.

Seriously? NONE, they all get their faces smashed. I think G-Man is overrated but he smashes all these guys.

there is way to much to quote so in a nutshell...

    * g-man stops all of them...probably inside 5 given how he used to blow outta the gates.

    * yes its funny to match berto and the g-man. i don't care who berto fought in the ams.

    * froch wouldnt see the later rounds either. its hard not to hit him. and this rock solid chin of his is actually not entirely accurate. he has a good chin no doubt, but he can be hurt and put down. he was down against taylor and hurt against dirrell after the point deduction. the g-man would leave him tits up.

A strange question, but considering that McClellan lost to even average boxers (which is why they paired him with slow tough guys). Still most of those will beat him and make him look silly. Possibly except Pavlik who would slug - and the fight be even.

:dealMartinez's movement could be a problem for the G-man then rest are either 2 small or just not good enough.

the amateurs don't really mean anything it's totally different than real boxing. Plus Roy Jones was only like 18?

But yes I still would think McClellan has the best chance at beating Jones along with Michael Nunn.

Jones could pretty much beat any Orthodox boxer ever at 168. But Obviously Jones did struggle a little bit against southpaws (nothing to do with the Tarver fight) so that's why i would give the really skilled Nunn a chance. I still think Jones would win against Nunn but like I said Nunn definitely has a chance since he's a southpaw. Other than that I would bet my money on Jones at 168 against any boxer.
