Go and open up boxrec. Tank has had 11 title fights in a row.
I state this to point out how meaningless these impressive numbers can be. Tank has won the BS regular WBA belt several times while Wilder defended his WBC belt against complete scrubs. Deontay Wilder has had over 10 title fights, yet he only ever fought 3 legitimate top 10 contenders. Says a lot about how "dominant" he was.

How can you not be hyped for this fight. Even if people knock them for not fighting the top fighters, this is a step in the right direction. 2 of the most powerful punchers around the weight are fighting each other, still undefeated, and also we got the other top 2 fighters fighting each other in May. The winners then fighting each other or even the losers is still great match ups. I can't be mad at the division now that it's one of the hottest in boxing and it looks that they want to fight each other.

Tank is always a threat to take you out, and Ryan too but he also has excellent boxing skills and power combos to go with that speed. This fight will be fireworks as Ryan will take the fight to him and Tank will have to fight his way through it.

The last time we had a chief support card anywhere near this good was Matthysse vs Garcia a decade ago. Those times are long gone.

I don't understand, how somebody not name casual can say that winner of that fight will be the face of boxing.

Some boxers said that in the recent interviews and I don't understand. How ?

That's being a bit intellectually dishonest: Pedraza was definitely a higher level guy and a defending champion. Leo is definitely "elite", Cruz is currently still a top 5 guy and Gamboa was old but a stalwart. Even Hector Garcia is a good win.

So can you say he has misses? Absolutely, but to say he's done nothing isn't being honest. Yeah he definitely should've accomplished more though.......but saying he accomplished nothing? Nah

Crap fight. And we know Davis will never fight any elite guy even if he wins. There’s at least hope with Ryan that he’ll fight Haney, Shakur, Teo/Taylor winner etc.

If you read through you’ll see that I acknowledged for tank that I thought padraza was a decent win but that fight happened in what 2017/18? And Leo Santa Cruz is an elite fighter but at 122/126 not 130. Gamboa was considered old when bud fought em in 2014 so tank and these young guys fighting an even older Gamboa is not a good win, and hector Garcia isn’t really a good win, dude only had 2, 12rd fights beforehand and one of those was vs another prospect in Colbert whose just as unproven..Shakur was just unified champ at 130 and all we hear from tank team is he hasn’t fought at 135, yet who did hector fight at 135? Which kinda shows the point Tank be fighting nobodies fr and got ppl fooled because of KO’s

Honestly, not a bad fight. Probably over inflated a bit but I wish it would be the case more often. Pre fight promotion has been lame for 5 years. I'm glad for once a fight gets hyped beyond non gardcire fans, even if I'm not a fan of either boxer

I got what you were saying but let's bear in mind that we lived through a real golden age there, from early aughts through roughly a decade ago. You had Top Rank competing with Golden Boy, HBO with Showtime, and the high-level promoter/network competition to put on the best shows (buttressed at the secondary and tertiary level by the likes of ESPN2 & Versus, or Don King & Lou DiBella) trickled down and meant we got lots of great competitive match-ups during a time when you had quite a few Hall of Fame inductees floating around in various weight classes.

But we live in the present. To suggest Tank vs. Kingry isn't a big fight in 2023 is silly.

He really is 28! I figured he was younger.
This fight isn’t even happening at lightweight. And win or lose, Garcia is probably not fighting at 135 anymore.
