People wonder how Gareth Southgate earned another go at a major tournament for England. etc. It's pretty much the same with Canelo. It is the credit he has built up in the past. I don't know what he can do to remove those GGG credits he built up. He's not one of my favorite fighters but I wouldn't say he is scared. Maybe just tainted. ohhhh booooooo.

Cause Yildrim accepted whatever offer Canelo gave him. GGG was asking for a bigger percentage than Canelo thought he was worth.

I’m not a Canelo fan and never will be, but unbiased boxing fans have to respect him for moving up to 175 and fighting prime Dmitry Bivol, when there was no incentive for him to do so other than legacy.

 

Canelo used to be a beast, but a few years ago he started fighting guys like Rocky Fielding, Liam Smith, Caleb, Callum....you see where I'm going with this....he seems to have found his prototypical opponent, and wants to stick with fighting those types of fighters.

 

I can counter this. Canelo vacated his title to age out GGG. Clearly, Canelo is not a coward in all things, he's rather brave as a whole, anybody who steps in the ring has courage, but that move was not brave.

 

Golovkin understood his worth. Yildirim had none. Golovkin earned his bigger percentage. 2 of Canelos 3 biggest ppvs in terms of sales and money generated was with Golovkin. The Golovkin fight was in high demand for a long time. Mandatory never mattered at all to Canelo. It’s as simple as that.

 

Canelo is not scared, he just wants to fight shot fughters. Fury is scared.

 

So if you go off of what fighters say, Floyd Mayweather is less of a fighter because he always said he was going for the ko and didn’t deliver, right?
