In a proper boxing world I would 1000% agree with you here... BUT, money talks and Ward brings ZERO dollars. That's the way it is. A side is the money side. It's a fact. It sucks, but it's a fact.
Well, the fight isn't happening so that's that. Froch can live the rest of his life knowing that Ward is the better fighter. It's his fault he wanted to "Control everything" . Ward proved that he was the far far better man. And that's how their rivalry ends.
Wards resume has 1 excellent win = Froch, 1 really good win = Kessler and 1 ok win = Dawson. The rest is nothing to brag about. (now watch someone blab about Green and Abraham and Bika, LOL)
Miranda, Abraham, Green, Bika. :thumbsup are all good solid wins. Even Rodriguez is. :smoke Fact of the matter is - Froch doesn't win it, why the hell would he exit his career with another beating? :huh If I was Froch, I probably wouldn't fight Ward either. Ward is just so much better than Froch is. And that's an irrefutable fact. :thumbsup
Pride and ego are interchangeable here. Andre deserves to have an ego. He's damn good. But he has to be realistic about who the money man is in a Froch fight. Sugar Shane beat Oscar fair and square the first time, didn't stop him being B-side for the rematch. Same goes for Duran/SRL, Gatti/Ward, Tyson/Holy, Kessler/Froch, Eubank/Collins, Randall/JCC, Forrest/SSM. Not all these examples are ones where the B side guy was clearly the better fighter like in the Ward/Froch case but A side is A side and it's not always about who's better. Oscar could come back tomorrow and be the A side against GGG and dictate everything in negotiations. I don't think Ward needs the Froch rematch for his legacy at all, we already know who's better. But it's his quickest route to higher popularity and purses in the future.
Well, Froch is trying to dictate "Everything." He's being overly arrogant despite being the #2 fighter and under Ward. I'm not even 100% sure that Froch ever wanted it. I don't think he did. SRL/Duran, SRL was the far bigger draw and he had a much bigger purse their fight first. 2nd fight- Duran got more money even though SRL was still the draw. See, it works both ways. Ward probably gets him less money than someone like DeGale. Although Froch/Ward 2 would be a huge fight, a Froch/DeGale fight probably rakes in more cash, being a good big domestic fight. Froch was probably blowing smoke up all of our asses, like he usually does.
No one is disputing who is better. It's a fact that Ward is better. But it's also a fact that the money fighter calls the shots, and Ward IMO is an idiot for not accepting the terms and going to NOttingham and kicking Froch's a$$ in his hometown. That's how you get to be a money fighter but Ward is too dense.
Yeah going to Britain to get prematurely stopped and taking almost no money = being smart. lol: Nope, Ward already makes almost 2 million a fight and he's only 30. Let's give him some time. Froch never wanted it, and that's a fact. If Froch wanted it, he'd concede at least 50-50 to make the fight a reality. Ward possibly would have taken it. Ward deserves more money. He beat his ass the first time around.
Leonard made more money than Duran after TV money. He gave Duran the higher guaranteed purse to coax him into a rematch while he knew Duran was celebrating and out of shape and Ray openly admits that. Oscar dictated EVERYTHING against SSM in the rematch and Shane was p*ssed about it even though they were very close friends. Same with Froch/Kessler, Chavez/Randall.
