Its when the ref stops the fight or your trainer throws the towel because you are constantly getting hit and you are unable to protect yourself already.

    What??

You must have watched a different fight because from what I saw Hatton was not worn down until the check hook.

In order to knockout an opponent, there are two elements that you have to consider to become successful : power and shot placement.

Power is self-explanatory. However, if you keep on hitting the arms, elbow, it is rubbish.

There is also what they call sweet spot in boxing, the point between the angle of the jaw and the ear. It is sweet spot because the ear is where the center of equilibrium is located. A ounch in that area would make an opponent do a chicken dance.

Most KO artists have an uncanny combination of finding the right spot and the power tneeded to do the job.

However, you don't have to need to have Tyson's power to KO someone. Even a fighter with moderate power like Mayweather can KO someone if he hits the right spot. Margarito can be KOed with a properly placed punch. Not unconscious KO but more like Darchinyan Cjhicken dance or Judah.

This thread is entirely wrong even.

Firstly, Pac is never a one punch KO to begin with. He does damage by accumulation. Not saying he can not KO, it is just that once his opponents become bigger, he commits fully to his punches only at the later stages of the fight. The in-out motion does not allow a fully set footwork or punching on the go as they say.

Second, he only fought 3 times above 140 to give a proper gauge as to his power, namely:

    Hoya, Cotto, Clottey.

Hoya, even at an advanced age (relatively speaking) was never KOed by a head punch. He was KOed by Hopkins but hopkins is the naturally bigger guy, being a career 160 pounder.

Cotto is a known durable fighter. He accumulated punches from Margarito towards the later part of the fight yet he never was actually knocked down from a punch. He basically took a knee.

Clottey - aside from the flask KD from Cotto, he was never KOed.

It is most likely he does not have KO power but all it takes is a perfectly placed punch to KO someone.

What proof do you have that Tyson had power at heavyweight?? His resume was weak, right? He fought over the hill fighters, light heavies, and cab drivers. ****ing idiots can **** on anything.

This is like asking what proof do we have that Mayweather is good at juniro middleweight? He fought once against Hoya but that's it.

It is actually the same guys who incessantly mention the catchweight advantage, and then the rehydration clause, and the fight is fixed, and finally the coup de grace, he is is on A side meth.

Pac is just making sure he will win, so that if he does not get him with the "FIXED" fight (meaning that he changed his mind on the way to the ring), he will get him by the catchweight, then rehydration clause.

If the oppnent renege on those 3, the secret one would be A-side Meth.

Well ud hardly call him a soft puncher. The power is still more than decent even at 147.

When was the last time you saw ODLH got knock down?:huh

Using ODLH in this argument does not prove anything.

I don't believe he has one punch KO power above 140lbs, or even at 140lbs...there's no doubting that the guy hits hard though. I would be very surprised to see Pacquiao KO Margarito at all...I think a stoppage via TKO will be a lot closer to reality.

Hatton was at 140 and it was a one punch KO.

Obviously it was one punch that took him out...after 2 full rounds of Hatton walking onto bombs.
