No one is giving Rampage much of a chance

The only guys they give a shot to are Lyoto and Anderson

Ive read up on the stylistic analysic presented here, saying Machida has a better shot than Anderson, but the way i see it, Machida has about a 2/10 chance

Shogun beat Machida by proving himself a too fierce, attacking, relentless, brutal. If Shogun could enfore that on Lyoto, then its not too hard to imagine JBJ could as well

Anderson is the only chalenge for the guy. Anderson is a one off fighter, it seem Bones is too. Just hope this fight gets made before its too late

I see Anderson as two different fighters

The guy you saw against Luther and Maia.... and the guy you saw against Belfort, Henderson, Forrest, Leben, and Franklin

Against Luther and Maia the guy was Extremely unmotivated, to the point of almost getting himself thrown out the UFC

We all know what happened when he was mathced up against the more formidable guys

The ONLY thing people seem to be riding on for a Bones domination is that he can effortlessly take Anderson down

Sonnen did it 5 times. At least 3 of those times he was met by a brutal strike. But, through his steroid pumped body, and Andersons broken rib, he managed to do pretty well....

Anderson will be motivated like never before for this fight. He'll be big at the weight. He'll even be able to outstrike Jones

This fight would bring out the best Anderson Silva

Anderson and Lyoto have the best chance to hurt him on the feet because they have great sense of range and footwork for countering but I don't think they'd really get the chance because if Jones felt uncomfortable standing he'd dump either one of them at will and proceed to smash them from the guard. It's not a question of whether he can be beat but if there's a man that can do it at the moment. Not sure that there is.

People really should watch UFC 104 or better yet UFC 69 before responding to threads about Jon Jones.

That's jsut a list of excuses tbh It will take more than motivation to gloss over the fact that Anderson cannot defend takedowns. I think the fact that Jones has x10 the finishing ability that Sonnen has is a fact you are ignoring aswell

Why would would give Lyoto 2/10 chance.

Machida is the only one I see with a significant chance against the current version of Bones at 205.

Anderson would be an interesting and entertaining fight, but ultimately I see Anderson getting ragdolled and wrestle****ed.

Granted, there's always the punchers chance arguments, and the Bones' chin/sub defence/guard/heart/[insert aspect of his game here] hasn't been tested yet, but realistically, any weaknesses people claim to see in his game are immediately shutdown or negated by his strengths.

    Wasnt 69 Serra n GSP?
Maybe got a point that no one is unbeatable, but I doubt Jones will take Anderson as lightly as GSP admitted he took Serra in the 1st match.

As Primate says there's a lot of unanswered questions about JJ, but his strength is Anderson's main weakness and he will fight accordingly

Yeah - my point was that being champion can do funny things to people. A lot of pressure is placed on the shoulder of a champion and many people crack under that pressure. That's what happened to GSP and probably is a large part of what happened to Machida.

I'm not saying Jones isn't a great fighter but some people are just rushing to pronounce him this unbelievable fighting machine that is going to run through everybody. Talking about superfights with Silva is silly - he's got plenty of challengers at 205Ibs to get through first.

But yeah I do agree that Jones is a bad stylistic match up for Silva. Why the fight will probably never happen.

Ahhh missed the point. Im not so sure that Id say Machida cracked with the belt though. But that's another thread

Im just playing devils advocate here and press Bouche for more than just ''motivation'' in his answers as any sensible poster would see the style disadvantage Anderson faces here

Because i see Bones wading in there and destroyiing Machida ala Shogun

If Bones got Anderson down, he has one of the most devastating GnP of all time. But then, Anderson is so experienced, and dangerous himself from that position

But Anderson will not let Bones take him down. Youve seen his fights against Rich and Forrest - those reflexes - and his pinpoint brutal KO striking - thats why i ssee him being too much for Jones

    You're forgetting about reach knowledge.

    Anderson has it.

    Bones has more of it.

Shogun had the benefit of 25 minutes of cage experience with Lyoto and felt he had his timing down and practise makes perfect. He didnt just ''wade in and destroy Machida'' he countered Lyoto as he threw his left straight and finished him with g'n'p

Rich was caught unaware of how strong Anderson was in the clinch and Forrest has ZERO defence. Totally different styles to a match with Jones. This may be a revalation, but they didnt take him down, because they are not wrestlers

The reflexes are nothing unless combined with technique to defend a takedown.
