I suggested Hearns. Hearns was willing to fight all guys. I wouldn't think Floyd would even get in the ring with Robinson if he didn't get in the ring with Pacman.

Glass Jaw? He probably had one of the best if not the best chin in boxing history on the night of the Hagler fight.

I think in the first Ray Leonard fight, and others can confirm this for me Hearns neck was not very well built and he had a long neck which makes one more susceptible to big shots. If you look in the Hearns-Leonard II fight you'll see that Hearns neck was much more built and his traps were large.

Tommy took some big punches from Hagler. Even Angelo Dundee said "I didn't think the fight would get out of round one"

Anyone fancy Basilio at welter? He did it at middle giving away weight against an admittedly older Robinson.

    In my opinion, no.

Prime vs Prime - Basilio loses decisively.

Mayweather, on the other hand, beats Robinson easily - shoulder roll is no joke.

Having seen Ray Robinson ringside as a Welterweight, it is hard to envision any 147 pound fighter beating him. Can't see it happening when in his prime.
But the guys such as Barbados Joe Walcott, Jack Britton [a forgotten welterweight champ] who went about 340 bouts without EVER being kod, the great Brit Ted Kid Lewis,
and the sober Toy Bulldog Mickey Walker, would have the best shot at upsetting Ray Robinson, the best fighter I ever saw....

:huhHe didn't last 3 rounds, and Hagler wasn't a monstrous puncher.

thats assuming floyd would give bigger figures in boxing history a workout.

somehow when we remind ourselves that SRR and his peers did such things, we quickly realise that PBF and his peers DON'T!

Hagler was a monstrous puncher especially with the incredibly high pace of the fight.

Ray Leonard in my opinion is overrated and would stand no chance against Ray Robinson. Floyd Sr gave Ray Leonard a tough fight with a broken hand.
