Sure he can be stopped. Cotto's key to victory will be his size, strength, stamina, and timing. But first, he has to catch Pac.

I could easily see Pacquiao getting stopped. It's harder to imagine Cotto getting stopped. Hurting Cotto isn't even the tip of the iceberg. By now he has about 14 things he can do if he gets rocked. This guy has a ton of experience taking damage, and he's less willing to quit or give up than ever, IMCV.

I can't see it and don't want to think about seeing it either, think I'll drop dead from a heart attack if Pac was caught and KO'd.

Pac is going to TKO Cotto in 5. WHOEVER Pac fights he would make them look small because he's way too fast, that's normal. Hopkins looked flashy and extremely fast against Pavlik yet looked old and zombie-like against Calzaghe.

The first two rounds explain all to me, if Cotto CAN handle Pac's power and successfuly charge in and land his own without being bothered by Pac's power then this will be a long dangerous night.

True, Cotto could not stop Margarito in their bout, and when Mosley fought Margarito and stopped him, I believe it had to do with all the shots Margarito received in his previous fights. Especially with Cotto.
I thought It was just a matter of time before someone would stop the defense lacking Margarito.

Manny's going to box, so Cotto has to cut off the ring and land some body shots to take Manny's legs away from him. Once that happens I believe it will be all Cotto.

And that's not to disrespect Manny, I think he's a great fighter, but I can't see him stopping Cotto, unless Cotto gets cut and the blood impairs his vision.

    just reading the comments

dont know why people are using the fact he was "exposed" by JMM as a gauge. JMM is far better than any other boxer around the weight. of course JMM could find him. but he couldnt do it often enough to come close to stopping him. NO other fighter is gonna find him as often as JMM did. Mayweather maybe - remains to be seen

but the little buzzsaw is too fast for 99% of the guys out there. he's like Calzaghe with power - a frightening combination. dont know if he's got Calzaghe's chin, but he's so fast and has such good movement and reflexes that that rarely has to come into play

    and Bula - behave yourself!

Obviously Pac cannot be stopped at this point...as long as he drinks JMM's magical invincibility urine-er-vitamin tonic. But I don't see that happening. So, yeah. He can be stopped by Cotto, if he's caught flush consistently and could have been stopped by Hatton or Oscar if he was caught flush consistently but he was too slippery. Anybody can get stopped at any time, especially a guy who probably shouldn't be fighting past lightweight and taking on some very tough welters and junior welters.

The problem is Manny looked too impressive in his last 2 fights against Oscar and Ricky. That coupled with brilliant victories over Diaz, Marquez, and Barrera, give him an aura of invinsibility.

However, he has never fought a prime welterweight who can take a punch like Miguel Cotto can. Watch Cotto vs Mosley. Mosley is a hard puncher and he drops bombs on Cotto for the first 3-4 rounds. Cotto hardly flinches and keeps moving forward.

Cotto is a nightmare for manny, even though he has the speed and awesome power for his size, he won't be able to back Cotto off with power shots nor will he be able to absorb too many Cotto body punches.

This fight is very difficult to predict. Even Freddy Roach is scared of Cotto and he should be. Manny might've bitten off more than he can chew here. He'll have to box and move the entire fight. He won't be able to hurt Cotto.

Its hard to see him getting stopped, he has such heart & will & is always in great condition.....

..... but I see him getting outboxed by Mayweather, I wont be in total shock if FMJ stops him, those accurate punches will take their toll & Manny wont be hitting a sitting duck vs Floyd like he did in his last 3 fights, all that missing will drain him physically & mentally.

I dont see Manny beating Mayweather personally, **** the size, there aint a lot in it, Mayweather is simply a better fighter & that more than anything will be the deciding factor.... skills.

(Im starting to lean towards Manny over Cotto tho)

I love this guy, no fake gangster, toughness crap with him. He's goofy as hell and isnt afraid to show it then when he gets in the ring, he just does his business.

Also this is a guy who really grew up hard but you dont see him constantly bragging about his ghetto this, ghetto that.

Personally, I think Pac's biggest weakness right now as he goes up in weight is his punch resistance. Pac commented on Hatton's left hook, the 1 that did land being very hard...that shows that a 140lb punch did hurt him probably more so than before...even in the DLH fight you can see how weary he was of DLH power, he dodged most of them but when DLH did land it worried him a bit.

Cotto will land a few...this will really test his chin. If Pac can withstand Cotto's punches well enough, he outpoints or TKO Cotto easy...if not Cotto by KO.
