No. Cotto would box Jr for the UD, unless Chavez stuns Cotto and go for the early KO.

I know most were watching last night's fight with Hater goggles on but did you see the uppercuts Jr was hitting Zbik with/inside work? (AKA Cotto poison)
IMO, Cotto could/would not be able to absorb what Zbik did last night @ MW against a BIG middleweight.

Cotto would continuously jab him and walk him into hard shots, and Chavez Jr. won't know how to do anything but keep coming and keep walking into them. They'll be sharp combinations of rights, uppers, and lefts hooks, before Cotto pivots out and restarts with his jab. When they do get on the inside, Cotto will be wary of Jr's body attack and commence his own. He will no doubt get the better of him on the inside exchanges with accuracy and experience in picking his shots, and has the much superior defense. If Chavez could use his height to jab in combination with efficient footwork maximizing his size advantage, then maybe. But he can't. Cotto will box circles around him and constantly tag him whenever he's within reach, breaking him down all the way with a body attack to further extinguish an already sub-optimal stamina.

I could see it being a fun fight in which Jr. impresses with aggression and heart, and I'd lean towards him being durable enough to last 12, but I don't see him winning. He won't be able to get in proper position to consistently hit Cotto cleanly, nor get away from Cotto's far more accurate offense. Cotto UD 12, or Cotto TKO late.

 

at this point, i dont see it.. he gets hit too much and cottos jab would destroy him with his new style of steward

 

I think cotto would outbox him, but jr could tko him he is WAY bigger and heavier than miguel.
