An how is what **** for brains ???

do you want an explanation of the minor improvements Cotto made against Mayorga at a foreign weight class under Steward , or is that something youve not noticed ?? :good

Did you read my thread ?? , Cotto Margarito , Cotto did not fight Margarito on the front pretty much the whole of the fight as we know , obviously something Cotto is working on , evident against Mayorga :deal , and will be need to be evident against Chavez Jr , who for one for a better phrase is a predictable 1 dimensional fighter who will be taking combinations from Cotto at will rounds 1 - 6 .

    Was there anything else ??

    :hi:

The only thing is Jr is a bit too basic.... He will give Cotto problems, for sure. Its going to be funny to see the forum after the fight because people will be overreacting once again when Jr troubles Cotto, but I just dont know if he quite has the punch selection (uppercut) or the constant workrate to take his performence to the next level to actually beat Cotto. We will see.

Just incase you havent been into your own thread you started on this subject , here's my take on Cotto Chavez Jr :

I think people are getting very confused about this fight , first things first , Cotto will almost certainly demand a CW of 156 , would be my guess , certainly no higher than 158 , if he doesnt his bad !!!

Secondly , Chavez Jr has not been in with a fighter like Cotto , ever !! , hence , clean , crisp , sharp combinations that Chavez will not be comfortable defending , and if you want my opinion Cotto may stop him

Thirdly , boxing is about levels , Chavez Jr in not on Cotto's level , weight and pressure aside , Chavez Jr will not beat Cotto .............

Thats my opinion , your shitty smiley faces wont change it

of course he does...he was landing that uppercut at will vs a really defensive fighter in zbik...cottos defense aint great, but his footwork is....one question is, IF CHAVEZ MAKES IT PASSED 8 (WHICH HIS CHIN HAS SHOWN IT CAN TAKE A FEW), WHAT'S COTTO GONNA DO ONCE HIS LEGS START WEARING OUT FROM THE MOVEMENT, AND BODYSHOT HE'S GONNA TAKE.....

chavez looked really good vs a guy that aint no ****en bum...the guy had a high workrate, and super good turtle shell defense....therefore, chavez took on the bodyshot route, and it worked....cotto does not have that same turtle shell defense, and is also easy to hit.....

i'm gonna hate watching this fight, but i'm willing to bet that chavez jr's gonna take it....

Ill have to rewatch the fight, I dont remember seeing too many uppercuts from Jr, but I might have just been paying attention to other things, also the opponent was calling for body shots, like you said, and you gotta go with whats going to work best for you against certain opponents.

You know, last year, I would have hated this fight. I didnt want this fight. But I dont see where Cottos going to go. Hes not going to fight Williams, hes not going to fight Martinez, if hes just going to be an in house fighter for Arum then might as well make this fight.

Im actually looking forward to it.

I see it as a fairly even matchup, with a slight favoring of Jr in this one.

Chavez was working his uppercut effectively on the inside......not so much as a powershot to hurt Zbik, but as a way to keep Zbik's defense occupied to defend upstairs so that Chavez can go downstairs.

You missed the fight Kirk if you did'nt notice those nice uppercuts setting up Chavez' work downstairs.

.......as a sidenote, I do see your point about Chavez' repertoire.
At least against Zbik, Chavez lacked a straight punch here and there to change the angle and keep Zbik from bracing to just the hooks Chavez was landing.

A straight right hand like old Pop's used to land would sure be nice for Jr. to practice and add to his repertoire just to keep Cotto guessing and honest.

I have a feeling that the straight right by Chavez will be easier to land against an opponent who's not as defensive as Zbik is.

Cotto is learning to either stay out of reach or get the better of his opponent by keeping a tighter guard on the inside without giving up his height so much and leaving blind-spots for the uppercut. Mayorga came in shape and after a huge payday in Pacquiao, and Cotto showed good improvements by either initiating effective combinations, or keeping distance with a ab. Steward will watch the tape, and have Cotto box him smart. Jr. does not do one thing better than Cotto.

    So what?

Nothing will change, Chavez would come heavy and he's still the bigger fighter anyway no matter if it's 158 or 157 or even 154 Cotto DOESN'T BELONG IN THOSE WEIGHT'S.:deal

Of course Chavez hasn't but Cotto already lost to a fighter who fights like Chavez in Margo, the only thing is Chavez is much bigger throws better body shot's and uppercuts then Margo not to mention he's also younger and very hungry and Cotto is already on his way out.:deal

It's not only about levels you damn noob it's also about styles:deal

And Chavez style is all wrong for Cotto I'm willing to bet a life time ban against any off you noobs out there.:deal

What can I say about your dumb comment but laugh,

If you think Cotto looked so great or good against a old shot to **** Mayorga, a fighter that Cotto should've put alway in less then 6 rounds at this stage off his career then you don't know **** about Boxing.:deal

Chavez is bigger, has a solid jaw, has heart and has some pop. So the answer is yes. Cotto isn't some kind of boxing wizard he's susceptible to being hit and usually doesn't respond well to pressure.
