Golovkin is the smallest fighter that can beat mayweather. Imo

think lara or Andrade have the best chance of beating mayweather. A taller /longer reach guy could keep him at the end of their jab imo. Andrade must be 4/5 inches taller than fmj so Floyd will have to do something different in there.

A paul Williams fight would have been interesting.

Please explain how. Mayweather can't move (GGG cuts off ring too well), Mayweather can't clinch (Golovkin too big/strong/plus he knows how to fight in a clinch), Mayweather can't overpower GGG (in fact, GGG would walk through everything he has). Mayweather too fast, GGG too slow? Golovkin, unlike most, would only have to graze Mayweather to hurt him- anywhere. Literally, he'd only have to land one shot.

So, how does Mayweather win? Golovkin would knock him out, dude. The only way I could see Golovkin losing is if Mayweather drained him to 152, but then it wouldn't even be Golovkin fighting. 153 and up, Golovkin wins and most likely would make it look easy. He's too big, too strong. Mayweather fighting him would be pretty courageous, but I don't blame him if he doesn't. Mayweather is about to retire for pete's sakes.

Mayweather wins, because the only way that fight ever happens is at 147, and Golovkin would look like a malnourished nerd seeking his D&D fix.

Yeah. That's why I said the only way Mayweather win would be a fight at 152 or below, but in that case, he wouldn't even be fighting GGG. Just a zombie. Lol

Floyd would have a good shot at 154 though, I think.

Not saying he would win, but no way in hell am I counting out the greatest fighter of this generation against an unproven commodity whose over the top hype far exceeds his accomplishments.

See it's weird because Mayweather has enough power, yeah it's about accuracy and timing behind it, but still, has enough power to back Cotto and Canelo off, obviously Mosley, Pacquiao and Maidana who aren't known to dislike taking one to land one... Cotto/Canelo were almost 160 pounds maybe even above it. He's held them off so he would definitely be competitive against Golovkin, not a sitting duck ala Malignaggi.I think GGG stops him because he's powerful and he's extremely clever, he's like the opposite spectrum of Mayweather, calculating and economical every second, playing chess and manipulating the other guy into where he wants them, watch 'the lost art of shifting' on youtube, it's a great watch.

Of course on this tangent, Floyd 'can' fight Golovkin, he wouldn't be 'a damn giant' much more than those fighters as they rehydrated MASSIVELY except Pacman. He's used to compensating for a weight discrepancy but he has not fought above 154 therefore it's not something people ought to demand, same as Pacman or Bradley or Thurman... ya know, if they were regulars at 154 then by all means ask 'Can't you go up three or four pounds so GGG isn't a likely scarecrow?' If you don't consider him TBE, don't expect him to go up, he knows he can't be TBE if he doesn't take on the challenges the ones infront of him did, even if he got KTFO his resume would be enhanced, losses aren't everything...

Can't argue with that. I just honestly don't see how Mayweather comes out of this w/o fist-sized holes all over his body. But if he beat GGG at 154... Geez, I'll buy a TBE hat myself.

Beating Golovkin doesn't make Floyd TBE.

I'm half-joking. Right now, it's laughable that Floyd calls himself TBE. If he beat a prime MW killer at the twilight of his career, then I'd at least buy the TBE hat. 😉

How much would he be bumped up on your rankings if he did beat GGG at 154?

If he fought and beat Golovkin ABOVE 154 that'd be some crowning achievement, I give him 30% chance, I gave him 55% of beating Pacquiao because I assumed Roach had planned for years. I give him 75% chance against Khan for example, 70% Brook, 75% Thurman and Garcia...
