Well, let's look at what he did during this stretch:

KO4 L. Holmes -Holmes had not fought in two years or won a fight in 3. Holmes was retired and got talked into getting off the couch by being offered a huge payday. Holmes did not take the fight serious and even recorded an album when he should have been training.

KO2 T. Tubbs -Tubbs was offered a bonus if he could come in under a certain weight... in order to make it look like Tyson was beating someone who had a chance. Tubbs didn't get that bonus.

KO5 F. Bruno -Bruno got stopped by every top fighter he faced. McCall is his best win and Bruno was barely hanging on at the end when he won the WBC belt from McCall.

KO1 M. Spinks -The former LHW had not been very active, had two bad knees, and came in at 212 Lbs. which was his heaviest weight ever.

KO1 C. Williams - He could have continued but he would have gotten stopped eventually. Williams had good skills but not a good chin. M. Weaver had already stopped him inside of 3 rounds.

In his next fight he was KTFO by J. Douglas. Tyson was 23 years old.

Rooney left the camp in `88 after the Spinks fight and Mike went downhill from then.

No Tyson was awesome against Spinks in 88 but had gone downhiill by the Bruno fight cause Rooney had been fired by then.

There's a very good chance Tyson lands a hook an it breaks both Wilders legs. I could see Wilders corner trying to blend in to the crowd while hes fighting, working their way to the exit and hoofin it up the road. Nobody wants this fight for Wilder unless they want him dead. Of all the fighters that ever lived, MT is the one fighter that could kill him

I think Holyfield beats him. They were supposed to fight in 1990, then it was 1991, then 1992... they finally fought in '96 and again in '97. I think Holyfield wins in '91 and anytime after.

For this we are talking about Tyson from '88-'89 vs. Holyfield at his best... which I think was in November of 1993, Bowe II. He weighed 217 Lbs. that night. Prior to that night he was at his best vs. Foreman in '90 (208 Lbs.). I still give Holyfield the edge.

Going into the 1st Bowe fight Holyfield was 30 years old and had been undefeated for 8 years. He was 28-0 (22) overall, 10-0 (7) in World title fights, and 5-0 (2) vs. Hall of Famers. Keep in mind he won a World title in just his 12th pro fight, there was very little padding on his resume.
