Can anyone tell me about Corrie Sanders

A little like Buster Douglas too, in that he had everything skill and talent wise but you just never knew where his head was at and how hard he trained...He didn't prep for the Vitali fight, which pretty much tells you everything about his consistency you need to know....

 

Yep.

A mere twelve maybe twenty-four fewer donuts and old Corrie would have definitively demonstrated with two quick TKOs that the average athleticism of the Klits combined with their regular size advantage was enough in the lousiest era in history - but not even close to being sufficient or impressive if similarly sized but actually exceptional top athletes were participating. If rather pedestrian Corrie (with similar size) could clock them then a great athlete with similar size would annihilate them.

Inevitably great talent will return to the sport and this period known as the "war years" (when all the able bodied men competed in other sports) will be long forgotten as the sport's trough period when the pedestrian, the limited, the old, the ex-cruiser, and the unconditioned competed at the lowest level of heavyweight boxing.

 

Largely true, except for the highlighted part.

 

A prime version of Sanders was KO'ed by Hasim Rahman and journeyman Nate Tubbs. He's quite overrated by so many people on this forum. The man is a never has been imo. He had decent handspeed and pop at best.

Corrie Sanders just wasn't afraid to go out there and check his opponents whiskers. He seems like a great guy based on his available video and text interviews, but he gets overrated a bit too much on here. He had a good career, but he's not on the ATG list.
