i think hes been pushed too much i hope he'll bounce back, hes still a raw talent and he'd have been better off training in the US
its shocking how terrible his defence was tonight.

He's only 21, anything is possible.

Look at Khan's loss. Appleby can come back with some tuning, never be an ATG but can be a useful fighter no doubt.

he can but he really needs to look at getting another coach, someone who can sharpen his defence and actually tell him where he is goign wrong in between rounds

i was not just shocked at defence but his footwork and his range finding. he was on tram tracks all night and fought like a street fighter. i think he has ability but i've never been taken with him i know easy to say after a loss but i never have i agree to become a stronger fighter he needs to go us or down to england at least and get good sparring and training. he is only 21 so he has time on his side.

I think he can. Tonight showed his inexperience but if he works on parts of his game he could be back on track in a few years.

He looked really bad tonight, nice guy obviously has talent but tonight he was wide open. I really hope he recovers because he's a nice lad with some raw talent.

Agreed about him needing a new trainer. He was definitely shook up by the crowd reaction tonight (i don't care what he says) and he could have done with a calming influence in the corner.

He's never lookd like a world class talent though. Neither is Lindsay.

I'm sure Appleby can come again at British and Euro level, no problem. Doubt he'll stay at feather for long.

Clearly his promoters took the fight for the money (nothing wrong with this of course) and not with the long term view of his career.

I agree appleby does need a new trainer, his current one is a joke. If he had a decent trainer with some top class experience then i believe he can make it. He was all over the place tonight.

**** knows what goes on at his gym, I'm guessing they think defence is just some sort of birth control pill.

I've said from the very beginning he's no Alex Arthur.... I was apparently be unjustified in my critism at the time. Think last night proves I was correct. Will he bounce back? Undoubtably he's a talented kid but he will NEVER be world class and he was very lucky to catch John Simpson on a bad night.

Lindsey was sensational- boxed beautifully and showed excellent intelligence. Brilliant.

lindsay really really impressed me, he boxed beautifully, he boxed then fought at the right time and his left hook to the body and the head was awesome, shook appleby right to the core and i think he was shocked at how hard lindsay punched.

how far do you boys think martin can go? someone mentioned it in another thread that he is way too much for anyone in britain or ireland

european? work toward a world title shot and give it a go? fight consistently at world level for a couple yrs?
