It's definitely a fight that I would love to see. Arreola has much better boxing ability, and adapts much better throughout the course of a fight than Peter does. The fight should happen.
What was Arreola's response to Peter's plea for a Nightmare showdown? Has Arreola even responded to Peter's request to fight him?
Pretty much every fight from both of them makes me think that. I would suggest that you brush up a little on Chris Arreola. He may be over-hyped by some at this point, but he is WAY better than you guys are pretending... [YT]2iVxx035biI[/YT]
He definitely has a chance. Someone like Peter can't be relied on and is quite hard to respect, the man doesn't come 100% as he's supposed to for every fight. He handpicks what fight he wants to come 100% for and prepares for that. Arreola also falls into the same category, this is a fight where a KO is guaranteed and anyone has a chance to get it.
Arreola is what he is - a bit crude, a slugger, not what you would call 'cut'. But he is undefeated and he has fighting heart.
i pick arreola. peter seems to have lost desire to walk through fire ever since his first fight with wladimir. after that fight he has been rattled in more than one fight and quit against vitali after showing zero aggression. this will be a good fight since both are very close in skills, power etc. but arreola is undefeated and hasn't had a shot at a title yet, whereas peters been there done that. arreola will have the hunger. the only way i can see peter winning is if he comes in with a burning desire to prove everyone that he isn't finished yet.
i dont see why arreola cant win. ok,he isnt the saviour of the division by any means but peter has never done a fat lot either. 2 wins over a faded toney rnt exactly awesome are they...and toney won the first one. pissed it. if arreola is in shape he has a good shot at winning
Peter is not going to beat Chagaev. Has Peter even ever fought a Southpaw? Chagaev has too much head and foot movement and would frustrate Peter. Bad style matchup for Peter. This is assuming Chagaev is 100% from his injuries. The problem with Peter is he has no Plan B in a fight if things are not going his way. Other than trying to club his opponent into submission he brings nothing else to the table. Now, that is not Peter's fault I blame his trainer and team for that. Peter should get a new team ASAP or he is going nowhere in the Heavyweight Division.
I am not so sure that Peter couldn't beat Chagaev. Peter won't be at a size disadvantage, and he willl be at a big power advantage. Chagaev is the better boxer with much better movement, obviously, but Peter's toughness and solid chin (pretty solid) may be enough to allow him to weather Chagaev's shots, and land his own. Not sure how Chagaev would stand up to a full on Peter flush head shot.
Arreola before the fifth round. he's fresher and I think he hits harder. At this stage of both their respective careers, Arreola has the strength and power to beat Peter. Peter took a lot of shots from Vitali Klitschko, but I think Arreola will genuinely go for the kill. Peter usually fights with boxers, when he fights against someone that wants to trade back (that's isn't a shot and chinny Maskaev) I think he will be stopped.
