No. He is too undisciplined in his conditioning. No serious HW who wants to be champion should be coming in so out of shape and flabby. Until he makes a committment to his conditioning I cannot expect him to be anything better than a B-Level fighter
I'm all for fighters being nice guys, good fathers, and good husbands. I'm a sap for those feel-good stories that boxing produces but none of these translate into world championships in today's heavyweight division. You can be the most passionate, gutsy fighter but all of that means nothing once you step into the ring with a fighter from the former Soviet Union. Arreola can be an exciting fighter for a long time and may even bag a belt but he wouldn't do it against the Klitschkos, Chagaev, or Povetkin. He'll make fights go the distance but he won't win them.
After someone hands him his first loss, maybe then he'll shed a few pounds, but I really doubt that he'll ever come in in perfect shape so I'm not getting my hopes high on this guy.
Hmm, yeah. I'm not gonna go all Zakman on the guy, but Arreola's not going to fill the David Tua role some have assigned to him.
He's not going to be a dominant HW champ but he'll provide some exciting fights. His chin is questionable and his conditioning is poor. He may pick up a belt one day but I'm not sure.
