The measuring stick is if Bellew starts talking about 'power', 'putting people to sleep', the usual pre-hype nonsense, then expect a stinker of a fight.

I haven't seen much of makabu but he looks slow even for a cruiser. If bellew can establish his jab and set the pace early on theirs no reason he can't pull it of.

Bellew to be smashed up and humiliated in front of his home fans.

Bellew has to box. If he stand and trades its night night.

Makubu looks a unit strong and thick set, he can take a shot and dish one out as well. He's easy to hit and can be slow footed though so if Bellew can get him on the end of a jab for 12 rounds he has a chance. I just dont see it though. The masternak win was a good one but hes going to have to find another level to win i think

I agree, Makabu obviously has power but he looks a little awkward and slow to me, I see no reason why Bellew can't jab his way to victory.

We underestimate our fighters massively sometimes and overrate foreign opponents. I'm not a fan of Bellew but I hope he wins and yes it's a big ask but he can do it.

  8. One thing I've noticed about Sky is where the odds are close, they have hyped the fights heavily beforehand if they think the UK fighter is going to win. An example being Crolla this weekend, but you can go back to Brook against Porter and so on.

When the Brit looks like he's gonna lose they barely mention it (i.e Stephen Smith recently). The fact that they are heavily hyping this indicates that the insiders fancy Bellew's chances.

It will go similar to Joshua-Martin.

  10. Do you think Makabu will be caught in two minds about how to get into the ring like Martin was, then decide to struggle over the top rather than walk through it like a normal member of the human race, ala Price Charles?

It's highly possible, especially if the Bomber gets into Makabu's mind at the weigh in.

  12. Good point. Bellew should shout in his face "I CARRY POWWWAAAHHHH" and call him a c*nt, and slap his wife's backside.

I hope he comes out in a crown and a cape that looks like he got it from a childrens fancy dress shop.

Anyone picking Bellew to win is in idiot
Same thiny with Khan, same thing when Bellew fought Stevenson, same as when Cleverly fought Kovalev
These are huge mismatches. He has 0 chance just like Khan did last week

In regard to the usa fights their not sky/hearn shows so they have no reason to hype them. Same when degale fights there.

    Explain why you think that?
Makubu is slow as and carries his hands low. Expect a Bellew left hook KO
Bellew is good at keeping range and slowing the fight down
