Anyone knows how Bivol does when fighting on the ropes? Just to be sure he has some tools when he is getting trapped there. That could be a place where it pays for Canelo. I need to see more than center ring action from Bivol. Otherwise he seems talented and it will be a good fight. I think he will win most of the center ring action. The question I am wondering is what he does against constant fearless pressure. If you have a fight where he proves something on that side of thing I would appreciate.
No, he can't. He is very inexperienced, he has never fought skilled boxers. He is the weakest lightheavyweight champion. This will be a very easy win for Canelo.
Can Canelo press him to the ropes? Canelo looks like a one dimensional bum against decent boxers lets not act like he's any good.
His balance looks good enough it seems. Don't think standing on the ropes is allowed in boxing though. It's not WWF.
He can get off the ropes well when he wants to but what he cannot do is fight on the inside. He shells up when you get in on him like many other good boxers at range, Ugas and Usyk for example This content is protected
Bivol is best in the same area Usyk is, just on the cutting edge of danger. Canelo will press and Bivol will do his best to establish moments in this area before escaping. The real question is can Canelo walk down Bivol?
Yes that is what I mean he is going to cover up and Canelo plan will be to wear him down to the body and start disguising his infamous hook. This is the kind of situation I am wondering here. Bivol has respectable power but Canelo has seen worse. There is little doubt we gonna see Bivol against the ropes eats power hooks. Other than that, I am confident Bivol can play against Canelo during center ring action. He has according to compubox the second highest jab efficiency just after GGG. But here the thing, GGG hits heavier. Bivol seems more active. I think GGG can eat a punch better than Bivol. That is probably the kind of analyse Canelo team had before picking Bivol. I expect a majority decision for Canelo, unless Bivol is juiced and can actually hit with KO power. It's going to be a tight fight, I believe.
Bivol can abuse Canelo's high guard though, he has very fast punches and rips combos when someone shells up. He's also 15 pounds heavier than GGG so we dont know how much harder GGG does hit than him. Close fight either way, no prediction from me.
