It's a walk in the park. Stop trying to subtly hype a match that will not be competitive just because Canelo is involved. This isn't a green Drainelo that fought Mayweather, this is a relentless Super Middleweight tank that now excels at walking opponents down. Bud will be a blown up sluggish and powerless Welterweight.

I'm not really trying to subtly hype the match. I'm asking about how competitive Bud can be and if fans think Canelo could or will stop him. You're acting like I hype every Canelo opponent. Now granted, I did hype Charlo (because I was a fan) and Munguia but and some others but I take each opponent on a case by case basis. It may seem that I just hype every Canelo fight but if you've been paying attention, I've made it clear that I'm not happy about the Berlanga fight, so you won't see me hyping that one. But Crawford vs Canelo has me thinking about what could happen in it if it gets made, there's a reason why it might get made and I think it's worth exploring how competitive it would be.

I don't think it's obvious. Many boxing fans (outside of this forum) have been hyping this fight and want to see it. I'm not so sure, but I'm not as against it as some on here are. I just don't buy the idea that it's a mismatch, that Bud has no chance, that he'll for sure be KO'd. That's disrespectful to Bud and possibly delusional.

I disagree. Bud will not approach the fight like Jermell. Bud is not Jermell. Jermell has long been outboxed by lesser opponents and always relied on his power to bail him out. That approach worked at 154 but clearly had little to no effect at 168. And I see Crawford coming in closer to 162ish and opting for speed and comfort over trying to match power for power.

Bud has rarely been outboxed more than a round or two. Canelo CAN be tactically defeated. Canelo's entire camp against Floyd was preparing for Floyd to move and Floyd stood and exchanged using subtle movement and parrying...young Canelo just wasnt prepared. Bivol was supposed to be overwhelmed and on the backfoot like Callum Smith and Plant yet Bivol took control and did his thing.

Bud Crawford DOES have the skillset to beat Canelo. He can move, he can box, he can set traps, he can change his rhythm. Can he take a Canelo punch? All signs suggest yes but we'll never know until it happens...and Canelo hasnt exactly looked fearsome in years now.

I'm still interested in the fight. I actually would LOVE Canelo Crawford followed up (assuming Crawford wins) fighting the winner of Scull and Shiskin for undisputed at 168. That would indeed be the stuff of legend albeit very improbable

I think Crawford poses a tough stylistic match up for Canelo, and if this fight took place at Middleweight if Canelo was still able to make the weight which he can't now then I think it would be a competitive fight.

But realistically i think fighting Canelo at 168 is a bridge too far and I see Canelo winning handily. I do think Crawford could go the distance but it depends on the mentality of Crawford does he want to pot shot here and there and just go the distance. Or would he really risk going all out for the win having to be aggressive, because more than likely he wouldn't win a closish fight vs Canelo on the cards and he knows that.

This would end like Bud VS Spence but Bud would be Spence this time.

Big Red totally wrecks Bud under 8 rounds

I think Bud should face Kabole at HW as that would be a master class. Do you think Bud would win?

lol yes you definitely are, you’ve done it for all Canelo fights, including Jermell who came up two weight classes to not even both throwing hard punches

When is Canelo going to rematch Bivol? The only acceptable fights for Canelo are Bivol, Benavidez, or Beterbiev. That's it. Enough with the coddled handpicking.

I say let the fight happen.

If Canelo loses, it will be the biggest tarnish on his record and Crawford will be GOATed

If Canelo wins, it will just be another instance of him beating on a smaller man and it does minimal damage Crawford's legacy

LOL Shadow is building Crawford up to be an immense victory for clenboy when he inevitably smashes the little person like a bug on a windshield

You're acting like Bud is some bum. He's in many people's minds P4P #1 and what he accomplished on Saturday was quite impressive. If you think someone of the caliber of Bud has no chance against Canelo then maybe you're just a Canelo Superfan.
