Juan Manuel Marquez accuses Canelo of penalizing his opponents.
In the imterview he tries to spoil the party by revealing a little known detail about the contracts that Alvarez stipulates.

    Marquez told the Marca newspaper:

“There are many good boxers who have won several world belts, like I did and like so many, fighting against the best without putting particular clauses in the contracts. When Canelo signs a commitment he pretends to put the rehydration clause which obviously favors him. the clause implies a reduction of the scholarship if it is not respected. It therefore happens that very often Canelo's challengers get into the ring after heavy sacrifices. All of which I think is not fair to the other fighter. Matches at those levels must be fought on equal terms".

    Callum Smith on rehydration clause:

Do you think Canelo's rehydration clause is really penalizing for his opponents?

In what percentage could It penalize them?

    0% ? ...10% ? ... 20% ? ... 30% ? ... 40% ?... more ???

Who cares, it prevents weight bullying. I always thought rehydrating 15+ pounds is ridiculous.

Did you think that before the Khan fight? It looked like Ginger Hulk fighting a jockey. Suddenly Canelo is a big fan of max hydration clauses now that he’s fighting bigger guys. I hate weight bullies but if you are moving up, it’s not fair to weight drain opponents. Fight guys at your own weight at least. No?

    Pedquez throwing some bombs.

Does a rehydration clause penalise people?
Yes it does. What percentage? Depends on the boxer.

Was Plant under rehydration clause? Dont think he was, Canelo didnt need an edge aginst him.

Kovalev, Smithy, Jacob all got penalized.
