If the same left hook that Martinez used it to KO'd Williams in round 2 hits Chavez Jr. at his chin, then what's gonna happen?

Left Hook? Looked like a straight left to me, but no, Chavez will be asking himself, what did he get into when he eats Sergio's left

I think Chavez will be able to take Martinez shots. I think Martinez can ko by accumulation though.

I think he can eat one.

Jr's defense is interesting. He always keep his chin tucked unlike Williams. You can hit him, but it won't hurt him as much compared to some other fighters.

One thing I've noticed is that Jr. use the top of his head for defense. If he sees a punch coming, he would just lower his head...the punch would land above his forehead, but doesn't have the same effect and he would counter with his punches off of that.

Ok Ok it doesn't matter it was a left hook or a straight left that KO'd Williams. If that big punch hit Chavez Jr. at his chin, will he go down? That's the point i wanna make here.

Honestly for me this fight all depends on how old sergio looks. I'd pick sergio of 2 years ago no question over Jr. But he is what, 38? His best attribute is his blinding speed. Speed usually deteriorates on boxers pretty quick, and Martinez hasn't looked exactly spectacular his last couple fights.

If Sergio comes out with his same old speed, the straight left can stop Chavez around rd. 8

Chavez will take Sergio's best shots until the last rounds when he starts to gas, Martinez is a late round KO'er, so yeah, bring chavez into deep water, and he will fall. The Williams KO was a once in a life time, on the button KO.

The real question is will Sergio stay on his feet for 12 rounds, because Sergio's defense are his legs. He doesn't really have anything else to fallback on defensively other than footwork

Good analysis! Another thing that I want to add here is Martinez has a bad habit to let both of his hands down like Muhamed Ali when he retreats.

I think Chavez can eat one of them, but Martinez is going to enjoy a pretty ridiculous connect advantage over him. Accumulation may get the job done.

    All night long...
But will Martinez be able to handle what it takes to land that "One" shot??
Sergio is in the ring with a different type of fighter than he has been facing.

This aint going to be a ***** Cintron...
It's not going to be a lanky pressure fighter w/o punching power @ middle.
It's not going to be a euro level fighter with no chin.
I don't think Chavez will be drUNK so dont expect Pavlik to show
    (Besides that was years ago...)

He is facing a fighter who has the exact style needed to dismantle Sergio.
The Argentinian will quit as soon as it gets rough.

It's going to be a TKO.
    Jr. Will walk thru him.

It will be a stoppage. Valiant effort by Jr, but Sergio is a future legend. He gots bigger fish to fry not wannabes.
