Chavez Sr had an atg chin his secret was chewing alot of gum. Floyd does the same, but it's more to hide his nervousness.
You can strengthen your neck and work on your base stance, both of which will probably contribute to less knockdowns, but I'm not sure you can ever truly improve your senses after being speared with a punch. Some just have it and others don't.
Wilder better figure out if there is soon. He can't fight the Duhapus' and Sconiers of the world forever; even those guys managed to hurt or damage Wildman badly. His days of champ are numbered. Glazgov would probably spar him featherfisted and all
Duhapaus swelled up his eye, that really has nothing to do with his chin. I still can't find video of the Sconiers fight anywhere, but if its anything like the so called Dustin Nichols knockdown I'd probably **** my pants laughing at people who made a huge deal of it. Either way, it was the 13th professional fight of a guy who started into the sport late.
Golden Boy Productions wants to scrub the web of all of Seth Mitchell's epic fails but he doesn't wanna fight no mo'... they promised they'd only match him against Wilder type opponents in the future... ya know... guys with no power... guys with Glass Mandibles... guys with no heart... guys that are fat and found riding on scooters at Wal Mart... guys that will take the Dive $$$... or all of the above... :hey
What a joke. More than likely it was scrubbed because internet trolls didn't want everyone to see what a joke it was. even if he was, he got up that's all that matters. Sonny Liston got his jaw broke and beaten by an unknown Marty Marshall in his 8th fight.
I wouldn't say he "walked through" Julio Diaz's. Collazo, Alexander, and Algieri are not known for their power. They are particularly known for the opposite. I know Khan knows he has poor punch resistance. The interview years back where he spoke of working out his legs and his neck as much as possible, citing both of those as the two things a boxer can do to help punch resistance.
the real Joke is a 35-0 record mostly made up of full-time Fry Cooks, Cable Installers and Cab Drivers!! not to mention the guys they found at Wal Mart riding around on scooters...
No, you can't toughen a chin. The most important thing is to not be weight drained, boxers that have been blasted out in lower weight classes have survived bombs in higher ones.
Of course. Age and weight gain (which usually comes with age) definitely toughens chins. Look at Wlad and Tua, among many others. That's why boxers are among the athletes most able to compete into advanced age, many of the most important things are not negatively impacted by age (chin, power, experience)
