not many giving Clint a chance, anyone think he can pull it off ? I like Woods, a good solid honest pro, think this may be a bridge too far though for him.
I think Cloud will stop him. Woods is not getting any younger though he has a solid chin. More of a 'test' for Cloud; he's just the opponent IMO.
The Tarver performance was dreadful, I think it's time to let it go personally. Hope I'm wrong though.
I actually think Cloud will stop him inside 6 - well that's the bet I've put on. A tenner at 9/1. This is it for Woods I think.
Woods aint ever getting stopped. IMO, he'll lose via UD. That said, people seem to forget how much of a seasonsed pro he is. If anyone is good enough to beat Cloud, then Woods is one of them. I want Clinton to win because I am a huge fan but I think this is a case of an up and coming fighter being hungry and a past great fighter coming to the end of his career:-(.
I gotta disagree with the term 'great' Losfer. It's a term that's banded about far too easily these days. Woods was and still is a good solid pro but he was never a great fighter. A different debate but all that talk a while back of him fighting JC was laughable. He'd have been killed.
I knew someone would pick up on it- sure enough it was the very next comment. I meant purely in a British sense. He's been a stalwart for British boxing for ages- he certainly aint 'average'.
Clintons good , strong and has seen it all so if Cloud underestimates him he's in trouble. That said Woods best days are behind him and Cloud is a man on the rise. Cloud by close but decisive UD
At least Woods pursued Calzaghe in a respectful manner, rather than other certain British fighters. Not mentioning any names.
I just hope Clinton doesn't stand in front of him and take shots on gloves. Cloud likes to loop shots around gloves and has some power. He looks a decent fighter and i think Clinton will have to be on top form to beat him. I hope he has good tactical plan and looks to take Cloud into deep waters.
I'm cheering for Clinton, but I'm afraid he'll get stopped in the mid-late rounds. It's just come too late for him, this opportunity.
Of course he can be stopped, he's a basic fighter, and when a basic fighter loses it they are easy to hit as Clinton was against Tarver. The difference being Cloud is a young, fresh and aggressive fighter that is really going to put some hurt on him. Gonzalez had never been stopped either. I reckon Clinton gets beat up and either stopped on his feet or more likely stopped by the corner. I'd love to see him take advantage of Cloud's lack of fundamentals, in his day he could have, but not anymore.
