If this is a war of attrition and the battle is fought on the inside, does it work out better for Cotto, who's shorter, much faster, and arguably hits harder?

Or will the tall and lanky Margarito prove to be too tough, his body too hard to hit, and his uppercuts to stiff?

Watch Cotto fight Mosley on the inside...

He landed some nasty shots I've never seen landing on Mosley before...

The good question: can Margarito beat Cotto on the inside, and if not, WTF can he bring to the table?

i think so! margos wide, slow looping shots are gonna leave him open for counters all night long for an accurate puncher like cotto!

I think Cotto can deffinitely do some nasty body work but compared to the rate and explosiveness of Margo I doubt Cotto can match.

Cotto was able to get away with in-fighting Vs. a superior boxer like Mosley because Miguel prob did not fear Mosley's punching power in the least, tho he did get cracked by Shane pretty good late.

I don't see Cotto approaching this fight the same way, tho I may be wrong
    (I hope I'm wrong)

Look for Miguel to Counter and attempt to break Margo down after a
couple rounds of letting Tony chase him around the ring, Cotto will then gauge if Margo has the Power to hurt him or not.

I think cotto would be foolish to try. He has other options that would work better for him. Miguel needs to make this a tactical boxing match.

Cotto, if he's going to win, is going to use his speed, movement and superior boxing skill to whittle away at Margarito, resulting in a UD. He canNot go toe to toe with the much bigger fighter. He will get ktfo if he does. Personally, I think Margarito's going to catch him with a big shot eventually. The guy's relentless and Cotto's defense is not up to the task. Could be wrong though...

Right....though I could envision some good effective inside work through a wailing attack from Margo. Notice how Cotto attacked Gomez's body by utilizing angles at moments in their short bout. The angled body attack looks like something new but its really something he uses when focused, its extremely effective against a Margo type fighter and it also helps him avoid uppercuts when operating on the inside. Cotto is a short accurate puncher his counter attack can throw Margo well off rhythm thus allowing Cotto an opportunity to let off combonations to the head and body without much coming back at other than range finding hooks thrown with power but very little accurracy.

Oh course he can. What do you expect him to do, try and outbox Margo the entire time?! Cotto is the much shorter man with the shorter arms and quicker handspeed so he should have the advantage on the inside. And in all likelihood Margo will be trying to use his reach to keep the smaller Cotto at range so being on the inside would probably be Miguel's best strategy.

Margo is not an infighter, really. He throws punchs from the outside very well and works his way in and back out of his opponents.
