honestly Cotto is not good enough to become an ATG. He has too many holes in his defense and his chin is nothing special.

No way, he's a great fighter but if you have in the list then you will have to add about another 100 from over the years. If Cotto is an ATG then what does that make Pacquaio and Mayweather an ATG of the greatest..... Serioussly you're just watering down the ATG list by having Cotto in there.

Cotto is the goods. Skills, heart and good guy. ATG. Sent Floyd into retirement.

    No i dont think so.

Cotto can make it to Hall of fame status if hes continues to win.

But he cant reach ATG status in my opinion.

I don't know I never seen him fight but his name is catchy. Cotto.

KO TOE. CO TOE . CODDO.

No, he is a great fighter, but Cotto lacks a certain spark/magic

A younger Mosley than the one Floyd beat, and that's arguably his best win if not one of the best.

I wouldn't really put him as an ATG, in the top 100, but he has the potential. He's got one of the best resume's out there right now and if he got one or two amazing wins, an argument for ATG would be much easier to make. Like Manny Steward said, his legacy is currently in jeopardy, and it's at this tail end of his career he's going to try and cement what he can.

Why must you insist on hating on JMM when he is clearly in league with his Fab 4 ATG contemporaries?

all he needs to do is hold onto his wbo title and defend it for 10 years against nobodies, then fight and defeat a couple of great fighters who are really old and way past their primes and then retire. :)

He is one of the best fighters in his time. Perhaps one of the very few fighters that fought and took risk while others didnt. He did not have to give Margarito, Quintana, and Clottey a shot, but he did. Never duck anyone and something you must repect never complain and had special demands(weights, ring size, gloves, never argue splits or about money), just wanted to simply get in the ring and fight. No excuses in his only two defeats even when the odds were against him from family problems to question from illegal wrapping. The guy is simply one of a kind.:good

I hope you mean Mormeck, not Marquez. Because Marquez has acheived considerably more than Cotto. Just from a career Longevity point of view he started mixing in world title caiber in 1999 and is still at it today whereas Cotto is plumbing the depths of meaningless "title fights" already after a very short peak.
