We're eight days from the fight, and I'm still seeing articles about Manny being "too fast" for Miguel. Now while I don't entirely rule out a Pacquiao blitz like the ones we've gotten pretty used to seeing administered, I think it's safe to say that Miguel knows how to deal with speed. Judah and Mosley are very different fighters than the current version of Pacquiao, but they also brought speed to the table, and speed never became the story of those fights.

The more important question in my mind is whether Cotto can survive against Manny the way JMM did in rough spots. It seems pretty damned likely that at some point in this fight, early or late, Cotto is going to be hurt. We have one of the best "survivors" in the sport in Cotto going up against one of it's best finishers in Pacquiao. If Pacquiao lets Cotto off the hook the way he did against JMM, Cotto can make him pay dearly.

Do you think Cotto can go into Corley/ Torres/ Margo survival mode against Manny to extend the fight, or do you think Manny can close the show as soon as he has Cotto rocked?

The questions here should be: Can Manny take Cotto's power? Is Manny that good of a boxer to throw Miguel out of his game??

If he can do that, he will win. If not, Cotto will knock him out.
Its hard to judge based on Manny's last 2 fights. To me, Hatton was always a nobody. Lot of heart but no skills and no power. As per Oscar, When was the last time you saw a fighter lose weight after the weight in????? That is all I have to say.

In your opinion Hatton is nobody. He had a lot of supporters! HE IS NOBODY but so many Brits follow him around. OH he has approximately 70 KO percentage. :patsch:roll: Just because he was outclassed by 2 boxers greater than him doesn't mean he does not have any skill.

I'm looking forward to a hell of a fight. I do not think Manny is to fast for Cotto. Judah and Mosely weren't. My instincts tell me Pac is about to find out he is not a welterweight.

I know the ******* contingent is primed and ready to flame at the idea of "decline", but I think the Cotto who fought Mosley would give Manny sheer hell. A lot has happened since then though, and it's just really hard to pick against Manny right now.

I actually think the fight will be surprisingly methodical for the first round or two. Then the fireworks will start.

Yeah, and Luis Collazo, a gatekeeper, made him look like a piece of ****. After that, he ran back to 140. But Floyd, who we know doesn;t like to take risks, offered him a good pay day to get his ARSE kick. Then, Manny's people decided if they kick his ass better than Floyd, then FLoyd was going to have to fight Manny. So Manny also gave him a good pay day to get his ARSE kicked. RICKY HATTON NEVER HAD A CHANCE AGAINST EITHER ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE RESULTS ARE THERE:deal:deal

Ricky Hatton has never been known for his power. Not that he hits like a girl or anything like that. He is what they call an accumulation puncher. Is not that he hit you that hard. IS that he hits you many times. He throws a lot of punches. Like I said, he has a lot of heart. Just like Gatti. Everybody loved Gatti. I loved watching Gatti. But the truth is he was an AVERAGE fighter with a HUGE heart.

agreed. hatton is below the world class level. just like zab judah, collazo etc. Just below what it takes to seriously challenge the best.

Can Cotto survive Manny? are you serious? Cotto with stood 11 rounds of violence with Margarito and that fight was dead even at the time of stoppage.

Manny had hit De La Hoya with everything but the ring post and still couldnt drop him and Manny wasnt getting hit back, you probably could have given manny a baseball bat in that fight and the results would have been the same...

Yes Cotto can survive Manny, question is can How does Manny react the first time he gets challenged back by a full fledged welter weight that can bang?:think

You have to remember in his three fights since moving up..

David Diaz went life and death with Morales who just come off of two back to back knock out losses at the hands of Pac and who was clearly shot, and get this, Diaz really probably didnt even win that fight, he doesnt have much power.

The De La Hoya fight, well we saw what happend there and we know the truth regarding Oscars health, he didnt drop Oscar there and was not challenged back.

The Hatton fight, well that was the perfect style for Manny it was like the glove that fit, again Manny was not hit in that fight...

So the real question in this fight, is what happens to Manny when he does start to get hit by a bigger man who can punch who can box who wont stand in front of him? and with 8 ounce reyes gloves?:think

I honestly feel there are more questions to be answered on behalf of Manny than there is of Cotto....

I think the bigger question is just the opposite. Can Manny survive against Cotto. I think we will see the return of Cotto the Body Snatcher. He needs to slow Manny down with that jumping in and out.

I honestly dont think pac has the power to do any real damage to cotto at ww. This fight comes down to can pac hit and not get hit for 12 rounds. I say Cotto is to well rounded a fighter to be totaly outclassed by anyone. I'm not buying into this fireworks crap. This fight will be a cat and mouse game.
