I don't know. Sure seems like he'd be kind of small at the weight, though I don't think any smaller than Pac or Floyd or JMM for that matter. He might could do it. Would love to see him try and would be rooting for him. Were he to clean out current 147, I'd have to have him up there w/the aforementioned fighters
Shawn Porter would prove to be a nightmare for Crawford. I believe its a fight Crawford will lose. Can Bud neutralize Porter, i believe he can.... Can he do it for 12 rnds? No i dont believe so. Playing out this fight in my head leads me to believe Porter will break Crawford. Thats just my opinion.
He knows who to go toe to toe with, who to box, and who to break down. He's versatile and great at everything he does. He can be exciting and put on a clinic. He's a complete fighter, which none of the 147lbers are. But I do agree Bud's chin has not been checked.
As much as it pains me to admit it, Bud chin was definitely checked by Gamboa and it looked a bit suspect to me. Hurt by Gamboa who was a former 126 pounder too . Thats another reason ima bit worried for Bud trying to take on 147 pounders. His chin has been checked but it still is a question mark .
Most of the people here said that Crawford is more than ready to compete with those big names at 147. Another question is "What the hell is he waiting for?"
I've said it before I would like Crawford to become the Bernard Hopkins of the 140 pound division and reign for many many years to come . But if he wants to move up for bigger challenges, who can be mad at that ?
Based off the win over the robotic overhyped Postol who couldnt beat Mathysee without mauling him like a miniKlitscko.
And at LWW, Broner, Mathysee, Idongo and Iman have a higher than 30% chance at whooping him as well. This guy was nearly beaten by a rusty SFW in Gamboa. Almost KTFO had he not adjusted and wore the smaller guy down. He fought on egg shells vs Postol, in what was a complete joke, almost as bad as Fury v Wlad for a megafight, and making Pac v May look like an action packed war. Aside from Postol and Gamboa.......his resume reads like a prospect. FFS, Molina couldnt so much as get a punch off against Broner, and he roughed Bud up whenever he could cut the ring. Crawdaddy is the penultimate HBO hypejob creation. His chin is shaky, and his size advantage stops at LWW. He best stay put, or like you said, seek out fights vs shopworn old timers like Pac, Bradley and Marquez or plodders like Rios, or that other journeyman Bob was touting as a mexican warrior.....the methhead....oh yeah, Mile High Mike. More like Higher than a Kite Mike.
