Can cutting off the ring be properly quantified?

So can statistics be kept to measure the successful attempt and on the flip side successful avoidance? Matching fighters with high trapping rate versus one with high avoidance rate has potential for interesting matchup and trend during the match itself.

That's an interesting metric if it was ever quantifiable. Though I think some fighters who don't care about how they are perceived are able to evade any pursuer.

I miss Julio Cesar Chavez. He could cutoff the ring like no other.

Right, he would have a high percentage of traps. Maybe in his later years his percentage when down. Those would be interesting statistics.
