Going to be very tough. Even if he put on a masterclass against Pacquiao, it's hard to believe he would have the longevity from 2010-19 to match a younger fighter.
I would have to agree, because he would have to put up such sustained excellence in the first half of this decade assuming he'd eventually taper off athletically, to still matter in the minds of the people who will vote, that it is really hard to see him winning such an award ever.
I thought the choice of Pacquiao for FOTD was fair. Of course if you want to get technical, there's people that consider the decade to have began in 2001. The first full year started with 1, so it was 1-10, 11-20, 1971-1980, 1981-1990, etc... If you go by that, then Mayweather-Pacquiao in November, assuming it happens, will pretty much be for the FOTD honors.
let me translate this post - can floyd keep fighting until we see him lose in a fashion we'd like such as getting knocked out, because we hate him even though we know he's the best fighter in this decade
If the world ends in 2012 as the Mayans predicted he could. As with his current legacy, no-one will be around who cares about it .
Probably not. His reflexes and speed are two of his most important attributes and and these are often the first to leave a fighter
