Of course he can. Fight Ortiz, retire for 2 years. Tune-up with another up and coming young hungry lion, 1 year vacation after that. Fight Khan, retire for another 2 years. Tune-up with a bloated FW, 1 year vacation after that. Fight Donaire at WW, retire for 2 years.

Yeah Duran burned out faster than Tyson.

If he has 2 year breaks between all his fights he could fight for a lot longer than 10 years. On a serious note I think he is fast losing interest, as is PacMan too by the way.

Floyd takes year breaks from boxing. I thought this was obvious and I didnt have to say it, thats obviously what I was getting at. Thats not the recipe for ten more years. The guy obviously is losing interest in the sport and his personal life is in complete disarray. What does he have like 6 lawsuits?

You're using the exception to the rule. Smaller guys generally do burn out faster. This is a universally accepted truth in boxing.

Look at my post above. Most of the fighters who had 100+ or 200+ fights were lightweights or welterweights. What big guy in the last 30 yrs had more fights than Duran or Chavez?

^ this. People think Floyd is all text book skill like Hopkins but he's no where close. He relies on his physical talents a lot. If he fights for 10 for years, he will lose eventually no question , that is if he actually fights somebody who's a legitimate threat.

Hell no, im sorry but a big part of Floyds game is his speed/reflexes.
    Hopkins is all technique.

Floyd has some mad skills of his own but its this combination that makes him so effective.
Once those reflexes go he will start getting hit a lot more.

I know ill get flamed for this but i think Hopkins is a lot more fundamentally sound than Mayweather.

Besides hugging and fouling, what textbook does Hopkins do better then Floyd.

What technically and fundamentally does Hopkins do that Mayweather doesnt.

Well the best example i can give on Floyd being more reflex/speed orientated is the way Floyd sets up that pull counter for example.
This is done almost entirely with reflex/anticipation.

Floyd also leaves holes in his defense to invite people in where he then relies on reflexes to dodge and counter immediately.
This for the most part only works cause he has a speed edge on almost everyone.

When is the last time you saw Hopkins get hit by a massive right hand shot like Floyd got hit by with Mosely?
This is because Hopkins does not have these holes in his defense.

Hopkins also uses way more lateral movement than Floyd does, who in recent times has become very stationary and relying on reflexes/upper body movement. (Hopkins is 46 for crying out loud and still moves around a LOT)
Bernard is more proficient than Floyd at giving angles as well.

Hopkins never had the speed or reflexes that Floyd does and he fights accordingly and that allowed him to fight at this age.

Anyway i am not ragging on Floyd, the man has mad skills and crazy defense, but i do not see him fighting his CURRENT style at 40 years old.
Not saying he wont adapt to old age (if he chooses to fight till then)

As i said i figured id get ripped on for making that statement in my previous post but i stand by it.
