If he throws combos he'll have to stand his ground more & will be more susceptible to Canelos fast powercombinations, expect him on the back foot like against Guerrero
No doubt Alvarez isn't the more skilled of the two but he is stronger and during fight night will be the heavier of the two, resulting in a good resistance to Money's power punches. However and IMO Mayweather's game plan will be to box until Alvarez gets tired and frustrated-right hand. That being said, Floyd's opportunity to hurt Canelo will be during the championship rounds and if Canelo gases, which is to be expected. Still Canelo is stronger and not damaged. Needles to say, Floyd's chances to rock Canelo or not are inconsequential to the result of the fight, as Mayweather will win this fight with his boxing skills to a clear and sound UD. 45-0 !!!
With the type of strategy and recipe that trainer Floyd Sr. is devising for lil Floyd in this one against Canelo, a simular strategy that Floyd Sr. devised for Oscar against (juced) Fernando Vargas, I think a late rounds tko victory is a very strong possibilty. Somewhere around the 10th or 11th frame, but I'll gladly stick with the safe and smart bet of a sharp, smart and convincing unanimous decision victory for Floyd "Money" Mayweather over Canelo Alvarez.
Can he? Absolutely. Will he? I highly doubt it. He's too smart to leave himself open by really sitting down on his punches. He'll be looking to thoroughly outbox Canelo while taking as little punishment as possible.
Floyd isnt feather fisted. He has enough pop to make guys gun shy. But no way he will KO canelo. Never. If Floyd hurts his brittle asa hands, like he did with Robert he will be in for a long night
Canelo fights in spurts due to questionable stamina so if Floyd goes for the KO in deep water, i think he can.. Not an outright KO but possibly a corner/referee stoppage..
Unlesss Canlo does a Dumbcquiao and runs into a punch, the chances of it happening are 1 in a gazillion.
Floyd stopping Alvarez, Garcia beating Matthysse This site is terrible nowadays **** it I'm getting involved, Cleverly stops Kovalev
