He can, will it be easy? No. Will he try it? Floyd is a safety first fighter, no ****en way. Wide UD for Floyd, unless Canelo can catch him with something and ends it early, but I doubt it.

I think Floyd can hurt Canelo especially in the later stages but he doesnt take the risks needed to do it

He had Cotto wobbly in round 12 but didnt put any effort into stopping him

He was hitting Mosley at will later in the fight and had him stumbling a little in i think the 9th when Shane went for a glove touch and Floyd hit him

Floyd has the speed and accuracy to do it but he never puts himself in that dangerous place

Floyd carnt ko anything just look at his knockout to fights ratio he only wins fights by running and out pointing. If anyone is gonna win by ko its canelo but I see Floyd winning this one by points

    I agree:yep

Canelo has to jump Floyd from the 1st ring a ding & just like you said in another thread about margo, that's the way to go about it, don't try & box Floyd, pressure him margo style, all angle attack, full resume.

But I don't see Canelo doing this, he's also more of a punch picker with the obligatory fast combo unloaded on a stationary target. This will not surfice when facing Mayweather. Floyd could & should stop Canelo around 9 onwards, I say this as I see Canelo caught between pillar & post tactics wise, still too wet behind the ears for me. He'll gas out as well, This is really going to be Man v Boy the more I think about it.

Once Floyd saw the Trout fight he must have known that this is not going to be a dangerous place for him. As the old adage goes: Age & cunning will always overcome youth & brawn.

But as you quite rightly stated with regard to Floyd just doing enough to waltz the 12 rather than go in for the kill. This is why he will never be looked at in years to come as one of the titans of the ring.

"Step foreward those who dare too be great" Not in Floyd's case, just like the Pacquiao debacle, undisputed glory awaited, but he never stepped foreward & that's the man, he want's his bread buttered both sides, cash & glory, ain't evr gonna happen.

This Canello fight will go the way most of us think it will. Even if Canello is whipped into mountain climbing shape & presses Floyd for the duration, he just does not have the required nous & maturity to upstage someone of the calibre of Mayweather.

Thats why Floyd has taken the fight, there's no clear & present danger here for him. But it would be nice to see Floyd go all out for the stoppage around 10/11 as Canello by that time ought to look like a badly dented punchbag.
