Froch's style isn't exactly built for career longevity but I don't think he's taken too much punishment so far. He'll be fine. But in response to the original question, yeah Froch has the ability to back Abraham up. He's probably bigger, stronger and harder-hitting than any of Abraham's previous opponents, and that should make Abraham think twice about coming out of his defensive shell, especially if he lands something decent quite early on. I reckon Froch's best chance in this fight is to use Abraham's passiveness against him, bombard him with shots and hope to win enough rounds before Abraham comes on strong towards the end of fight.
Key point really. Do you think Froch can box smartly for 12 rounds and keep his discipline? I'm not convinced.
Well to be honest, I felt he did that against Kessler, infact I thought he was unlucky to lose the fight.
AA seems to fight in explosive spurts, a guy plodding/battling forward like Froch may possibly fall into AA's style. I'm still really looking forward to this fight, but like a few others, it's one that should have been done and dusted a long while ago.
I can't pick a winner. I have the fight 50/50. It all depends on how Froch and Abraham fight. Froch has balls the size of church bells, he is one Hell of a warrior to say the least. If Abraham just covers up for half the fight, he will lose.
He doesn't have to to win, just land more punches. AA hardly throws any and shuffles forward like a pensioner in the post office into range Froch will hit him with stinging punches to bust AA up.
I love both guys. I'd love froch to win. But I think he's going to get hurt late and lose a decision.
Really intriguing fight this. I think Froch will be more prepared to put meat on his jab when he has a smaller, static opponent in front of him so I can seem him shutting Abraham out as long as he doesn't get too cocky and start hanging his balls out because as said Abraham fights in sharp bursts. Another aspect that's interesting here is that both men are typically slow starters that come on really strong in the later rounds nso it wouldn't surprise me if it was a Froch boxing lesson for 6-7 rounds which turns into a messy war that could be a who has the best chin competition. I have my money on Froch either by mid round TKO or points
He got hit way to much to the body against Kessler and they were hurting him. Thats not gonna change at this stage, Froch doesnt have the footwork to avoid body shots. Watched AA v Dirrell again last night and ya know Abraham is quite intelligent with his punch placement,he caught Dirrell with some nice shots, most of em just the single shot. I dont think its by design that he works harder the last minute or so, he is very focused on looking for openings throughout the round. I'd be worried for Froch because i think Abraham will tag him with ease, but on the flip side Abraham could rush things and throw punches recklessly and Froch will find openings then.
