Fury would need to beat Joshua and Usyk to be comparable. And Usyk would need to do something or go on to do something at heavyweight that would merit a win over him in the same bracket as Lewis's win over Holyfield.
He could, but the big question is if he sticks around long enough. He needs some more depth to go along with his great top end wins...taking out AJ is a must.
Nah... he wont be around long enough. Beating the current guys wouldnt do it, hed need to reign the next era as well and like I said, he presumably is a couple fights away from retirement.
Not likely. The 90's was stacked with talent, and Lewis dominated. Wins over Holyfield and V Klitschko rate higher than wins over Wilder and AJ (if Fury beats AJ) Lewis' contenders were strong. Guys like Ruddock, Tua, Bruno, Golota, etc. Fury would need to have a lengthy reign as undisputed to match Lewis. Or, if someone Fury beats goes on to be a dominant champion similar to V Klistchko.
Tyson Fury is the G.O.A.T Heavyweight, Wilder will fight to take that spot Lewis didn't take a much more winnable Vitali risky rematch. Bernard Hopkins was winning championships at 52, so no age excuse, he chose to limit his legacy by fighting 3 times in the last 20 years!
After Wilder was beaten people say Wilder was limited and didn't fight anyone, but a few months ago people said he was the hardest puncher of all time. We cannot have it both ways. Vlad and Wilder and then Joshua? That would be a great bunch of names.
Lewis HL Old Tyson Old Holy Fringe W over Vitali Revenge vs Big Underdogs who KTFO Fury HL Wlad 3.0 (Wlad 1.0 lost more) Older Wlad 4.0 still came back & gave Joshua hell 18 months later Prime Deontay Wilder, acclaimed by Teddy Atlas (and everyone that matters) as the hardest puncher in history Fury is still active & even if he loses vs Wilder (a man he already beat), he can still go beat Joshua take all the belts, have Bob Arum pay 333lbs Whyte a roll-aside fee & go for Deontay Wilder IV, this puts him clearly above Lennox Lewis, even if he losses all future fights vs Deontay Wilder (A much taller, much harder, much faster puncher than Rahman or McCall)
Tyson Fury looks big-old but he is young enough to be Evander Holyfield Grand-Child, he will be fighting will into the 2040s
It depends where you rate Lewis. I probabaly rate him lower than most people do. I think he's become a little overrated. Still, Fury's at least a couple of big wins away from surpassing him, and needs to remain unbeaten and not get iced by a Rahman-type challenger, then it's very possible.
