Can Garcia beat Thurman in a rematch?

Of course he can. Boxers have in the past won rematches of fights they lost, so why not Danny? Will he win? That's another question, but both boxers would go into a potential second fight with first hand knowledge of each other and will adjust training and game plans accordingly. Common sense dictates Garcia would be the betting underdog but to write off his chances completely would be unwise, as he might make the necessary adjustments. Let's hope we get the chance to find out...

 

LMFAO! Im a DSG fan and fellow puerto rican! Have been on here for a couple years showing love to dsg. Ive just seen him enough to know that Thurman is simply a terrible matchup for him.

"Thurman competitive but comfortable UD" was my pick from day one. Same as it would be for a rematch.

Actually Thurman stopped engaging in round 9 which allowed Danny to come forward. It's a subtle but important difference. The rematch won't change the winner IMO.

 

Garcia will lose again. A big part of Garcia's success is biased judges. Thurman did not invent the wheel, Garcia has been schooled by Herrera previously. He can't deal with proper speed.

99.9999% it just leads to the same result. Garcia is just too predictable and too one-dimensional. A rematch would prove nothing as Thurman beats him even more convincingly.

 

Danny isn't dynamic enough. Thurman would employ a Floyd-like pot shot all day strategy next fight. He would constantly move and stand his ground in spurts enough to win by a wide UD.

 

Keith speed overwhelmed Garcia it seemed. I still don't think Thurman is anywhere near "elite" though. He's very very good though. His power is kinda overrated a little but he does have some IQ. I just think the blueprint to beating a guy like Thurman is a physical swarmer type.

 

Yes, all he has to do is throw more punches.................I thought the fight could have been a draw, I was disappointed in the fight. Thurman claimed he was the most powerful puncher in the division, but he was very disappointing, he was also disappointing when he fought Porter, I thought Porter beat him................Talk of a fight between Brook and Thurman, I would bet on Brook to beat him.............

 

What makes you think so? What I saw was Danny knew he was behind and became more aggressive.

 

Danny can win toe-to-toe if Thurman doesn't run around.

 

I think so. Danny just has to start a little faster and not wait around too long for the counter. He also would need to take advantage of Keith when he's peddling towards the ropes where he failed the first time. Danny has to learn from those mistakes if he's going to win a rematch, But A Win Is possible. Definitely.

 

Not likely. Thurman took the fight to Garcia for the first 9 rounds and Garcia won, at most, 3 of those rounds and was nearly dropped in the 1st & 3rd.

Thurman took his foot off the gas in the last 3 because he & his team knew he was ahead & decided it wasn't worth risking it.
