That sounds true to me, apparantly Theophane told some of his fans the day after the meeting with Warren " I am not fighting Kell Brook, unless it is for a world title " he also said " I have not been offered the Gavin Fight"

Because its Frank Warren who is speaking to Frankie.

Because it is common sense, Theophane does not need the British Title at 140 because he is ranked higher at 147 and could earn a crack at a world title soon, if he fought Gavin he could get a big pay day and then win, lose or draw he could then go up to 147 and back to America where he is more highly rated and then fight in bigger fights. Theophane is not an unbeatan fighter, so if he got beat it would not be damaging, were as defeat for Gavin would be terrible, so Gavin is the one with everything to lose.

I'd say they've both got plenty to lose.

Gavin is a highly touted, highly paid prospect who is unbeaten.

Theophane has worked up the hard way and won't want to lose his title to a relative novice.

I know which side of the fence I'd rather be on in this one.

I am sure if Theophane was made a decent offer he would fight Frankie Gavin.

add to that if Frankie Gavin actually faced someone in the top 6,7 at 140lbs it would be an eliminator and then it would force the Theophane fight.

Instead we have him at 147 agaisnt crap opponent just so a belt is on the line.
