Canelo goes into every fight up at least 3 points without throwing a punch. So with Canelos movement and ability to shoe shine at time, can GGG win on points? Or does he have to KO to win?
He will be so much better that it's hard to give Canelo a round. Wich means it probably end up about 117-111/116-112. (for GGG)
It's possible because there's a big disparity in the conditioning and workrate, and GGG is durable enough to withstand the counters coming back at him to commit to his offense. Lara and Cotto had the offensive tools and footwork to win, but lacked the workrate and durability to be able to commit to them enough to score more. In particular, Lara left a lot of scoring on the table because of being worried about the heavy hands of Canelo, and it's hard to get a decision over a house fighter fighting that kind of fight. It's easy to focus on the 117-111 card and assume there's no way Lara could've won, but he was still only one more won round away from the fight being judged a draw officially.
Some of you are such drama queens in regards to the judges scores. GGG has the style to convince the judges that he's winning convincingly. IMO, GGG will beat Canelo pretty much the same way Canelo beat Cotto. Might possibly stop him late though.
If the Canelo/Cotto fight has shown us something(other than Canelo being the superior fighter) is that someone will always ***** about scorecards. KO's eliminate needless scorecard whining.
You act as if he didn't get a split decision loss to Floyd who was the bigger draw in a fight Floyd won every round. Sit down somewhere
I couldnt see it ever going to the cards but if it did, even in Vegas, it would be one sided after the 1st when Alverez tastes his power and goes into survival. GGG takes his time with his opponants, not to sure he would hold back against Canelo.
Nice! Quickly change the direction of your argument because you got called out. You jumped in thread as if the discussion had no merit. I provide proof it has merit and you decide to pivot away from the original conversation. Please move a long. You're not wanted here. You have nothing to contribute.
Difference between Canelo-Cotto and Canelo-GGG is simply this: although I think Cotto did a great job in there, no one (i.e., judges) felt that he was 'beating' Canelo, due to Canelo's harder shots, even if he landed less than Cotto (yeah, I know what Compubox showed). GGG will reverse the game, where he'll be the one to land clearly harder and telling shots. Also, I can't imagine a scenario where GGG is not the ring 'general' in this fight, so that's another way for judges to score correctly.
Golovkin would certainly win more rounds if Canelo somehow manages to last the distance. However, if DLH is able to get judges he wants, they will still give decision to Canelo. That is exactly the reason why Golovkin shouldn't go lower than 158 -- he needs a KO win.
