Disregard post, though it said Cotto, not GGG. GGG could KO Chavez.

He was basically teeing off on Stevens for 8 rounds before the corner stopped it, Stevens has been KO'd in the past, I would bet Chavez has a better chin than Curtis, since I've never seen him close to hurt even against Martinez.

No he's not, but he appears to have his chin

golovkin signed the fight 2 months before chavez was even thinking about it...............chavez flipped and flopped when he knew the reality of the situation of him getting in the ring in golovkin he tried to get out of the fight...............he used money issue to duck golovkin......................arum had him getting potentially 17 mill .............

He potentially could, but I think it's an unlikely scenario. And GGG could very well get KOed himself.

He wasn't really teeing off like that though. A lot of his shots had to go around his guard. We saw what happened when his jaw was left open in the 2nd. Golovkin didn't really get the chance to tee off with straight shots. Jr on the other hand, would most likely try and trade with Golovkin and would inevitably put his hands down and do his little bring it on dance. Chavez does have a great chin and we don't know how GGG's power would be acclimate at 168, but even if he doesn't go down, if Golovkin lands multiple times, he lands hard enough to possibly have a corner or ref stoppage due to a cut or eye injury.

Stevens was shelled up pretty good, in survival mode, for most of the fight. Chavez wouldn't be. I think Chavez would be throwing a lot more, giving GGG more opportunity for flush counters. I'm not saying GGG can stop Chavez, I'm just saying that using a shelled-up Stevens as a meter to answer the question isn't the most accurate method. BTW, in my opinion the power difference between Martinez and GGG is significant.

He stil took a ton of body shots, Chavez does have a way of moving to take some of the sting off his opponents shots its subtle, not great but better than people give him credit for.
Chavez also has a far better inside game than most of GGG's opponents so far.

Fair enough. Stevens did take a good number of body shots, but I believe it wasn't until around round 5 that GGG really started to work the body consistently. Chavez might be in better position for GGG to work the body earlier, and he's not as fast as Stevens, who has good hand speed. I agree, like I mentioned before, that Chavez' inside game would probably give GGG a major test. No matter what, it's a tall order to KO the much bigger Chavez whose chin is extremely solid.

Golovkin will knock Chavez out, that's why Chavez refused to fight him, even for big money. Hell, Chavez would weight nearly 200 lbs. on fight night............
