:nono Even the most out of control Golovkin hyperbole has usually not included "He'd knock out Ward".

 

Golovkin is very underated (before his most recent win). The guy got a really great offense and deceptive defense. His biggest weapon is his fearlessness to engage. He put his punches together well and shocking despite his slow movement he can cut corner quite effectively. He was able to beat Dirrell in the amatuer speaks volumes for Dirrell is a very great boxer. Dirrell is naturally more gifted than Ward good boxing iq, speed and power, however ward is a smarter fighter overall. I wouldn't rule out Golovkin upsetting ward tbh. At the moment i think Ward should smother and decision GGG

 

I'm a big Golovkin fan and I can't remember too many people saying he'd beat Ward.

It's hard to envision anyone 175-and-under beating Ward. GGG is good enough to give anyone a tough night though.

 

i like golovkin a lot, but before i go and make a bold statement i want to see him fight against a few more good fighters. i dont believe anyone in their right mind believes that if the two met it would be an easy fight for golovkin however i give him a chance against Ward. just like someone else said... what have you done for me lately... and ward has done a little bit more.

No I really don't think so. Ward's O and D are just too tight and Golo is a tad small even at 160.

 

Only reason why i would take Golovkin over ward is bc Ward would be a solid favorite and that Ward has shown that he can be dropped/hurt. Golovkin got a serious chance of upset if he can get to ward with his heavy hands.

 

You can't hurt what you can't hit. Andre can either circle and keep him at a distance, or get inside his shots and smother them. Either way, barring a miracle punch on the button, I don't see many ways for GGG to win this.

 

Now, if Ward cut down to 160... :deal

Too bad the fight will never be made. Ward is hinting that he is leaving 168 and not even addressing any intentions of fighting his friend Dirrell. I would love to see that fight as well. Golovkin would not be able to build up his name big enough to challenge ward. Ward will be 3 weight classes above Golovkin pretty soon.
