I would like to see Nick Diaz win, but I fear he won't be able to deal with GSP's wrestling.

The best thing about a Diaz win would be the almost certain rematch, whereas if GSP wins, they will probably not fight again.

If Diaz gets past Condit(which I think he will), who does he fight after that, as GSP will be out still for some time?

Koscheck? Wouldn't mind seeing a Diego Sanchez rematch.

GSP beats his ass in which anyway he chooses. GSP doesn't come into a fight not 100% then make excuses after.

This is a key point for me, and one which is being overlooked by too many people. We all saw how GSP reacted to being hit and marked up by Jake Shields, he wasn't comfortable with it at all. People keep saying that GSP will wrestle**** Nick, but do they really think Nick can't hit, mark up, cut or hurt GSP while on the bottom? He can, and most likely will. And who knows how this will affect GSP physically and mentally.

I don;t even care if Diaz wins, I just know that he will force GSP to fight every step of the way, whether on the ground or on the feet. Nobody is every going to have an easy time with Nick Diaz, no matter how superior you feel their skills are.

I full expect GSP to win whenever this fight goes down, but i will be cheering for Diaz all day.

I wouldn't expect Diaz to beat GSP up from the bottom. I would expect him to hunt for reversals and submissions, and constantly scramble. I would, however, expect Condit to bat GSP up from the bottom, similar to his fight with Roy Mac. Condit is very active with strikes from the bottom, and that his how he opens up submission and sweep opportunities.

On a side note, I really can't wait for Diaz/Condit. That fight may top my list of dream fights.

The sport is about level's and i dont think a consumate pro / seasoned champion like St Pierre will lose to Diaz just because of a lay off , momentum and activity does play a part in how a fight plays out , but its not everything

GSP is a superior mixed martial artist to Diaz by far and will prepare accordingly and he will be ready for Diaz who is going to get his ass handed to him

Again , assuming he beats Condit :hey

These long layoffs in the UFC can be real career killers as no one is ever allowed an easy fight to get the ring rust off before they are thrown to the lions.

GSP's wrestling is still the key to this fight and no doubt he will be highly motivated to beat Nick or Condit once he sees them wearing his belt.

Diaz was a purple belt in those fights, he`s a black belt now & from an overall MMA point of view his boxing was nowhere near as good as it is now & he was weaker physically then than he is now.... in short, he`s a much better fighter than the guy that gave those fighters hell, he`d stop every single one of those guys today.

Shields wasn't doing anything but losing before he got his whole finger in GSP's eye. I doubt GSP would have stopped him if it hadn't happened, but he was winning every second of the fight before that. Even after, Shields did better, but was only "winning" if you compare it to the nothing he was doing before.

As for his work from the bottom, I suspect every single guy that has fought GSP has thought of this, Penn included. None of them did much from the bottom because either they were covering up from ground and pound or GSP was in side mount and you can't punch from the bottom in that position. If Diaz can keep GSP in his guard (better than Penn did) and not worry about getting hit (he's tough as nails, but does cut) then sure, maybe he can win from the bottom. I doubt either of those things will happen though.
