I think this is the $64,000 question. We all know Floyd will be on his bike so... can Ricky catch him?

I'd rather just see the two of them undergo Sparq training and compare results.

I think a lot of people are gonna **** when they see PBF not on his bike but taking a side step when Rick puts his head down to charge in and smashes him much like he did Gatti.

This is, without a doubt, the big question regarding this matchup...

Can Hatton catch up to Floyd, rough him up, and cut the ring off?

In my opinion, it comes down to these things
    1. Hatton must come in at 142
    2. He must work his way in with a good, hard, jab
    3. He must move his head coming in
    4. He can't jump in with wide punches or he's going to get caught every time
    5. He must give Mayweather feints on the way in
    6. He has to go to the body effectively

This goes without saying, but he needs to have sparring partners that have great speed and defense and what he must do is work on cutting off the ring and doing some of the things I mentioned. If he does this all and is at the very top of his game, he has a chance in this fight. But one must also remember that even if Ricky is at his absolute best and is able to employ this gameplan, Floyd is still very much capable of winning this fight because he has shown in the past that he has the ability to adjust in-fight.

Floyd won't be on his bike, Hatton is no threat to him at all. All pressure fighters are not the same, Hatton does not jab his way in effectively, he comes in head first, this means he's open to Floyd's fantastic 1-2 all night long.

Ricky will be beaten up and stopped, so don't be surprised.

Floyd can't run all night. There will be times wherein he'll have to stop and plant his feet to throw punches . . . and that's Hatton's best chance of catching him. :yep

But on cutting the ring? It would be difficult because Floyd won't be moving only in one direction. Hatton will be wasting a lot of time trying to do that.

Hatton can try, but he will be counter all day trying too. I said it before, Mayweather is going to exchange with Hatton :bbb

Why would Floyd be on his bike against Hatton? Hatton isnt a knockout artist and Floyd just went up to 154lbs to face Delahoya who is a way bigger puncher then Hatton and he didnt run. You people are acting as if Hatton is some big puncher when in actuality he's not. Floyd won't be running from Hatton.

Ricky can cut off the ring and he is more agile than DLH and Castillo. Both of whom could cut off the ring on Floyd. However Floyds footwork is ridiculous and if hes on top of his game he could have Hatton hitting air as he pivots off to any direction.

Floyd is doing a whole lot of sparring and early and TRUST me. He is going in to beat Hatton at his own game. That cements his legacy and proves he is a beast in which he is. His defense is too good, and Hatton is not that busy on the inside and does not throw good combinations but loads up on one punch way too much. Same under left hook to the body and right hand over the top...Hatton does the same thing and floyd can block and weave that with his eyes close literally. The thing is if hatton was a southy WHOLE different ballgame as a right hook thrown under and over and left that comes str8 at him he is able to get hit with like a regular fighter. Orthodox....no..

IMO, the main thing to do against Hatton is DO NOT go straight back like Tszyu did.

I'd love to see someone actually play Floyd's game against him.

Imagine if Hatton sat back and danced around like Floyd does. There would be virtually no action, the crowd would begin booing. Essentially Ricky would be saying, "**** you Floyd... I am not chasing you to have you side step me and dance around. Come to me and let's do this or else we do this dance thing all night long". Now would Ricky win that type of fight?... probably not. But to try and get Floyd out of his game and having to fight a completely different way, would be something to see.

I don't think so. He's a natural 140-pounder; I'm not sure he's big enough to out-muscle Floyd. Cotto might be able to, but not Ricky.
