Can having a strong chin sometimes be a bad thing?

Yeah I agree, however, compared to most normal people, Price and Khans chins would actually be above average as glass as they are, lol

A strong chin coupled with a biased bigoted ref who wants to see the boxer get hurt is especially dangerous.

True. Most people hit that way either immediately crumble or are seriously dazed. Pro Boxers also seem to have a higher facial pain threshold.

Ali didn't have a great chin. He could recover quickly. You will say but he took punches from Foreman and never went down. Show me where Foreman landed one flush punch in the whole fight. You will say he took punches from Frazier. For the most part Frazier was a break you down type puncher. Shavers landed one good punch and had Ali out of it. Liston never landed his best punches. Cooper did with one punch and almonst knocked Ali out.

A great chin means getting hit flush by huge punches and walking through it not hurt at all. Few guys have great chins.

Sometimes, it makes you have too much confidence on your chin and thus you dont place too much emphasize on bettering your defensive skill set. Look at Provodnikov, probably has the toughest chin in the game and because of that his style is more brawler like due to his whiskers holding up to the strikes, poor defense is sufficient.
